lvl 83 G20's vs lvl 85 Nike's

  Been playing with the lvl 32 R11's for a while now and looking to upgrade to a club that can hold the green with a 3 and 4 iron.  I am thinking about the lvl 83 Pings or the lvl 85 Nikes.  I am at lvl 79, so I got some time to think about it.  What are the real life (so to speak) pros and cons of each and with is the better club to take me to Legend? I have heard all good about the Pings and mixed reviews about the Nikes.  On paper, I like the Nikes.

  I'm in the same boat although about to hit lvl 83. I've been playing heavily recently so hopefully will get to 85 pretty soon.

  I've been using the lvl 15 Bladez for the majority of my career and am finally looking to upgrade. The high level Speeds and Bladez are out because I'm not a fan of the yardage splits. I'm also looking for the slowest meter possible as my current Bladez are only 1 dot.

  I know I'll be tempted to just pull the trigger on the G20's as soon as I hit 83 (in the next day or so) but I need someone to tell me whether or not itll be worth my wait to just get the Nikes at 85.

  Thoughts?

  No comparison. Get the Nikes. I complain about mine sometimes, only because I don't want to blame it on ME. I had the 59 G20's and the difference is astounding, so I don't think the higher level G20's can compare. The higher trajectory and spin (you can dead stop a 3 iron) make ALL the difference. Just my opinion.

  I have a different perspective. I play the G20's because they can't stop a 3 iron dead from 220 yards. I find that to be unrealistic. I have free rented the L85 Nike Irons and the meter isn't too fast compared to the L83 G20's. I suppose the choice is yours as to what you want out of the game and how realistic or unrealistic you want it to appear. "IMO"... the L83 G20's are the final point of realistic looking iron play. After that it becomes cartoon looking.

      I agree with Cerino. I am level 79 & hit the level 58 G20s. Will upgrade to the Level 83's soon. Like Cerino says, they are probably the last stop if you care anything at all about the realism of this game. I have never understood why people want to pay to throw darts here when they could do it for free playing Tiger Woods. That is why i play no other golf except WGT. I want realism, not stopping a 3 iron DEAD 4 feet from the pin from 200 yards. That's easy for me to say though because i learned this game playing starter's & the WGT free ball. So throwing darts was not part of the learning process.

  Lvl 83 G20's all the way. I too played around and rented different clubs, but in the end it was the realism of the G20's that grabbed me.

  The G20's will take you as far as you want to go.  (Of course there are the gifted players that can use free clubs, balls and play under par on uneven lies.)I used the G20's up to a few months ago.  Meter is similar to the G20's but the few extra yards go a long way.  As far as a 3 iron stopping fast.  Mine don't.  lol

  I got the NIkes because I had some credits that weren't going anywhere, boredom.

  I love the Nikes but the G20's are a great set of clubs.

  I have the G20's and the R11's (L90).....I rented the L85 Nikes back a few weeks ago when they had free rental weekend. I loved them, they are very close to the R11's. If i had the credits i would buy them.

  The G20's are very good clubs, i know Legends that use them still. 

  You are still at Master tier, you dont need that extra 5-10 yards from the 3 iron just yet, but i would say this. If you get the Nikes, they will be the last set of irons you will ever need, even when you reach Legend.

  I think I'm going to go with the G20's. Its been so long playing with these lvl 15 bladez I feel ANYTHING will be a noticeable improvement. I'll hit 83 by tomorrow, I'll be too giddy to wait for 85 to come.

   

  I also like the idea of them being more "realistic".

  Highly suggest the new Level 85 Nike irons along with the Level 80 Nike balls which offer the most BS and bite to hold the tuff greens even with mild tailwinds.   Whatever ur decision good luck. This combination is relatively close to the 97 Nike irons pared with the Level 71 & 81 Nike balls that offer a little more distance but less BS.
