How is it possible to play -20 on St. Andrews (Elk Big Show)??? I know that one has to practice a lot, but what kind of eqiupment must one have to manage these kind of scores???

Give it 12 /18 months and you could too....with better equipment and practice.

If being literal then....16 birdies and 2 eagles.

As Andy stated - much better equipment and many hours of practice.

ps - Actually it was 14 birdies, 1 par, and 3 eagles (one being an Ace at #11).  Don't worry though roarkopp - it will be beaten by at least two strokes before it is all over.  This tourney could actually produce another 49 before it is all said and done.

2nd ps - the leader is actually now at 51.  Nice round for dansamcam.

I think what is not being properly explained here is that EVERYONE seems to be hitting off the white tees, which if I remember is the pro/tour pro tee box at StA.

Put a TL,  who has been playing this game for a couple years with the best and longest equipment on white tees in an unlimited tournament and this is what will happen.

Besides the 2 par 5s on each nine that offer a legitimate eagle chance there are multiple par 4s that are short enough to reach off the white tee, for more eagle chances, then add that to the ability of some TL's to have their wedges so dialed in that holing out for eagle is not just an outside chance but a real possibility and you can start to fathom how guys can shoot low 50's.

Every time they do one of these kind of tournies the cheater whistles start to blow, however, its just not the case

I'm going with a 50 tie wins it, but a 49 is not a bad bet....

depending as always on the odds :-)

I shot a 57, I had at least 4 legit eagle chances and made only 1 of them and a few pars from very close up, and I'm using a driver that's a good 10 yards shorter then the bomber here. I knew immediately from my round it would go low, and what I left out there and was surprised at the time it was only a 52.

These guys are just that good and seldom miss any putt. Prepare to be amazed.

No way to 48 from white tees, 49 maybe, definitely 50. That's my guess.

On St A the White Tees are the Master/TourMaster (Hard)Tees. It really wouldn't make a lot of difference in the scoring if it was on the Legend/TourLegend Tees. The Top TL's are gonna win the thing no matter what. The other top prize to a random sweepstake draw sounds like a nice goal just to enter and play it once.
