I gotta agree with the sentiments here, although I will keep playing these as my schedule allows. I have to say, I see the superfast greens in particular as one of the truest tests we've seen on WGT of course-management skills (especially combined with UEL conditions). And I'd like to see them introduced occasionally for high-profile events.
That said, payout really should be expanded somewhat to keep more of us interested (as well as reverting to 48 or 72 hr duration per round).
I've said this in the prior Craziness threads, but if the stated goal (as found on the tourney description above the leaderboards) is "to have Icon finish outside the top 10!" then why not reward anyone that finishes in the top 10, or above Icon?
That creates an extra interest to the tourney: if you can't attain top 5 (and frankly, few of us have any hope of that), then perhaps you can better Icon (unlikely, I know). I think it's wonderful that Icon is taking part... but the logical next step is to make that added level of competition meaningful. "Beat Icon and you double your stake/win a sleeve" or something...
Or use these tourneys as a way to experiment with other payout options and get our feedback. I've heard multiple mentions in the forums in the past about getting rid of the RG payout from 16-30th of half back, instead suggesting greater payout for managing a top 15 finish.
Or mimic a real 50% cut, whereby anyone making top 50% of participants gets something back, and top 10 win significant return.
