I am not familiar with how the different levels of rank work.  I started as a hack (which was very accurate), then amateur, now pro.  I still am very poor at this game, how come i got promoted to pro so fast?  At my level i can not compete at that tier yet.  Is it possible to get demoted? My first round at pro level was not good.  I am afraid i got promoted too fast and now i can't even remotely compete in tournaments.  Any information on how this all works would be appreciated. Thanks.

Hi, my 1st guess is that you placed well on a few of the amateur tournaments.  In general, competing in tournaments regularly tends to get you promoted quickly.  Congratulations!  Have fun in your new tier, you have shown that you can compete just fine at the pro level.

Going forward as a pro I would suggest improving your short game to climb the tourney boards again.  Equipment and balls come into play if you want to remain competitive, and of course practice.  To speed things up,  get away from your starter wedges and starter ball to help your game.  A common practice is to lose the hybrid (you can punch effectively out of the rough with the fairway wood) allowing you to add 3 good, evenly spaced wedges to refine your approach shots.

There is lots of great info and suggestions by searching the forum on "equipment upgrades/help" "wedges" "balls" etc to see what suits your future equipment strategy and budget.

    Enjoy!

Showing no round above 90 from the beginning, your game isn't poor at all. Add a 67 on CCC as an Amateuer (plus a 69 on MER from Am tees as a Pro), this puts you on top of this tier (actually it's 17th in that CCC tournament, best score being 63).

Keep in mind that ony a few can compete in their tier, either by outstanding talent or by playing the system and cheating as re-starting multi-accounters. The others share the journeyman spots.

You  have been promoted with the least possible round numbers until now, and this might continue, perhaps accelerated by equipment buys. You might want to play other games than ranked/tourney strokeplay to balance the advances in ranking/tiers and levels. Alternate shot and Matchplay give good XPs, as does playing every day (=> CDP bonus). Level 59 @88,000 XPs and Master tier fit well together!
