I don't even know where to begin with how unfair this new system is, i have been playing this game for over a year.....i carry 3 wedges in my bag and no hybrid....now with the new legend tee's i require a hybrid or i hvae to hit 3 wood into about 30% of the par 4's.....so i go to the pro shop and what do i find? i can't even purchase the hybrid that matches my set ( and it's not even a master level club ) until i reach tier 57......

WGT what you have done in an attempt to make the game more challanging and "realistic" you've done the exact opposite, should people be shooting 55's all day no of course not, but should i be hitting Driver 3 wood into 1/4 of the par 4's no...i'm a 15 handicap in real life and don't even have that issue on a real course.

I'm going to hold off on completely giving up on the game for about 2-3 weeks as i'd imagine they will make some sort of tweak to this horrible system, if not sadly i will no longer be playing this game as it simply isn't fun hitting Driver...then trying to run a 3 wood into a 240/220 yard 2nd shot on a par 4.....

WGT if you want to make the game realistic ....do so  Give me a 3 iron i can hit 240 and a 5 iron i can hit 200 yards......and a hybrid i can hit 255ish.......make putts outside 15 feet more challanging...that is the reason for all the low scores...it is entirely to easy to putt the ball from 12-30 feet...i would imagine in real life on the PGA tour the % of those putts being made is probably around 12-15%   on this game it's around 50% and for the sicko's it's higher than that....... It's not the distances that make shooting 57 possible it's the greens.....tweak those and you're on to something...

Look look i'll tell you something... the driving distance you get in this game is... okay.  It's not exactly what you'd want but then again there are players on the PGA tour that only drive it this far like Jim Furyk... In fact the PGA average is around what the better driver and ball combinations can achieve...

I don't have the best clubs so don't know what's the average driving distance is on those, but it doesn't look too far off real-life stats.

More importantly, we can clearly see that the averages in this game blows real-life Pros out of the water, with perhaps an exception for driving distance. So it's clear something is off. It's perhaps too easy to do well on the green, and get close to the pin on approaches.

    Good point, ott2.

And it's easily forgotten that the courses we have here aren't your average, everyday, run-o'-the-mill public course, where I'd venture to say that most of us experience RL golf.

I know that only with better course management skills will I be able to compete under these "new conditions". i.e. finding better "landing zones", playing to full club approach shots to maximize bs when needed, or scoping-out possible "roll-ups" to the greens where a punch-shot may come in handy... etc... etc... etc...

In my case, it'll take work... and alot of it.

Care to share your secrets for making 12 to 30 footers??

go to the pro shop and buy one of those fancy putters. I am amazed when I play against those of you who have that putter. Putts falling in from all distances. Of all the upgrade clubs that are "cheat" clubs, the putter is the tops

It sure is. It automatically tells you exactly how hard to hit the putt, which way to aim it and how to adjust to 7 different green speeds. Incredible!

Nonsense, dear lady. I have all the advanced putters in my bag, and I still keep missing 2ft and 3ft putts.

As one of those who've gone into the pro shop recently (yesterday) to buy "one of those fancy putters"... I can see how some would feel the way they do about them.

But believe me when I say... it's NOT the putter that is causing those amazing putts. It may be that it's just a more consistent instrument, just as an "off-the-shelf"  K-Mart putter would be more accurate than a bent stick, but I'm sure similarly amazing putts have been made with "the lesser putters".

Just before I purchased the Master RW, I made this putt with my "ordinary" RW. It had been a long while since making any even close to that long. In fact, "complicating" my routine by getting another "even better" putter may not have been the best decision I've ever made, but only time will tell.

LOL-Exactly what I did, PA, and I'm still working on figuring it out! Actually, if you can ding it it is absolutely killer. Using the miss method it seems to need a bigger miss and this is a little scary sometimes.  I like it the more I use it.  :-)
