The player here looks like he/she was promoted to Legend when Legend was first introduced.   Fairly certain those who were automatically made Legend at that time were given the L35 as a starting point.

Thanks hpurey. I thought maybe the criteria had changed again. And this person got the short end of the stick. He/she doesn't play very much (IOA once or twice recently is all), but they have got to struggle when they can't even buy decent equipment because of the level. Whoever it is is in the top ten money winners list for the month, though. I would assume they won a drawing prize, though, since they don't ever play. Legend at 69 sucked for me, so I would not want to know I was a level 35 and playing from the back tees. Anyway, thanks for the answer. I haven't been on but 7-8 months and didn't realize it was done differently back in the day.

Yep, when I joined, the top tier was Master and the equipment was tier based not Level based.

Lots of changes since I have joined,  but being a golf addict from Michigan, even the worst day on WGT in the winter beats wishing it was golf season watching it on tv.  :)
