  Earlier today I was 32 yards from the pin, and had to go over some water. I had no incline and a 9 mph wind to my back. I hit a SW at 32, and it plunked into the water after only going about 19 yards. This is dumb! I need yardage calculations that will tell me how far the ball will land. Sure - I can adjust for wind, and for inclines / declines, and for my lie, but when the yardage is presented to me, it should not assume roll (at least not that much!) Are there any meters out there that you can use that will give you better info?

  Ignore the caddy and use a full shot. Job done.

  Starter wedge and Starter balls, it may be designed for 19 yds carry with 32 yds shot length. May I ask you to write down Rule #1 for this equipment - "Fairways and Greens". Please write it down twice: "Fairways and Greens", "Fairways and Greens".

  You can't shoot at the pins with these, with a stress on hazards in front. Their trajectory is way too low, and the result of throttled shots is outright unpredictable (unless you are a seasoned Legend).

  Better take a safe aim in green center and two-putt from there.

  You misunderstood me. Obviously I'm not telling him to hit it 60 yards, I'm saying use a full shot as against a pitch shot, a chip shot. a flop shot or a punch shot.

  Go play a one ore three hole practice round and hit it close to the green.  Take your lowest yardage wedge and put full back spin on and try 25% / 50% / 75% power and do it over and over until you get a good understanding of what the club is doing.  Then hit it into the rough and see what those same shots do out of different %'s of rough.  then the next time you are faced with a similar situation you will have a better idea of what to do

  Did you use a full stoke AND Full shot mode? Because the Starter SW in full shot mode is rated for 70 yards with a full stroke.

  In Punch shot mode the Starter SW is rated for 59 yards. In Pitch shot mode the Starter SW is rated for 22 yards. In Chip shot mode the Starter SW is rated for 11 yards. In Flop shot mode the Starter SW is rated for 24 yards.

  From 32 yards the caddy usually defaults to the Pitch shot mode. Using Punch or Pitch shot mode with a full stroke won't fly the ball as far as Full shot mode.

  The answer to your question is no.

  You need to put some time in to figure out what the carry is for each club if you don't want to run into these situations. An easy way to do that is to go to a flat fairway in practice mode, hit a few balls with each club, and write down average carry for each club.

  I wouldn't spend too much time with it though if you're planning on getting new clubs, which is a big help, in the near future.
