  Has anyone mapped the distance on the Nike level 97 Irons yet?,If so would you be willing to share the info ,including the ball used and distances with the different spins.....I'm sure if your mapping is correct it could be worth a few sleeves....:)

  I'm too lazy to map them accurately enough and am afraid that anyone else's mapping efforts will be based on dinged shots( I don't ding very often) so they usually are not much help for me lol.

   

  I use the "HaH" method.  "Hit and Hope".  ;-)

  sure, back spin  takes yards off your shot. no spin goes a few yards more than distance and rolls. top spin makes your avatar do the YMCA dance. 

  These are only tested in the ctth putting track.

  With the high spin of the clubs they are hard to map, I can tell you the lower spin balls seem to work better...I use lvl 61 nikes with R11's and lvl 34 Calloways with the Nikes....

  IMO, they play the same distances as R11's. It's the way they act that's different.

  ChrisIronsBones has a nice chart on his profile of the R11's.

  Dude, you touched the Holy Grail (or 3rd rail)  - asking a "Senior" player to share information!! 

  I shared information on on my "mapping" of L79 Bladez and high level Cleveland wedges with 2 people Plus of the members of my CC (140 + members). All I asked in return was feedback and reciprocation (if they got the R11's before I did). 

  Want to take a guess what the response was? (could I still  be waiting for one????)

  If I had the info - I'd share it  - seems to me that we're playing WGT more that playing each other!!

  L48/L61 Nikes, full BS: 3i - 226, 4i - 210, 5i - 193, 6i - 178, 7i - 162, 8i - 151, 9i - 135, PW - 115

  Only know a few commonly used ones, but same ball no spin: 3i - 238, 9i - 141, PW - 126

  If I use L71/81 Nikes, I'd knock 3 yards off the full BS numbers above for all except the 9i and PW.

  For the L35/slow meter callys or Max pro, I'd play to the stated club yardage with full bs and they shouldn't be far off.

  Good info Mag,  be getting the 97s in next few days so gonna try and marry them with new 'blacks;  

  Old 'burner' boy with callys, so meter speed shud be no prob, just got lazy :)

  Time to compete, getting bored meandering along !

  Don't forget irons off the tees will usually have different distances from the same irons off the fairways.  I use to think it was VEM, but after testing, there is a significant difference in distance with most irons, balls, and spins hitting off the tees compared to hitting off the fairways.
