    WGTicon:
I suspect it's just not in same spot as his ball, so while yours stayed in bounce, his did not.

They're both well inside the mini-map. One's in bounds, one's out of bounds.  The mini-map border is normally the OOB boundary.    In this case the OOB boundary is way inside the mini-map border.

Since a lot of shots hit that tree, the OOB boundary around that tee should be fixed.

Or, the claim by players saying the game is rigged to steal balls is valid.

Why is Spammage's ball OOB and my ball is IN BOUNDS??  Are we not BOTH inside the mini-map?

Hey Andy, great job with the animation as usual. I'm seeing your ball fractionally inside the line and Spam's ball fractionally on the line and at the ball's apex, over the line. Perhaps touching the line and/or slightly breaking it is considered OB? I don't think WGT has the mapping wrong. I've seen the same type thing on St A and Oakmont with my own game.

In this case I think Spam's incredible bad luck with the bounce off the cart path raised edge is the catalyst. Mind boggling still to me is the course mapping is so precise to include the raised edge of the cart path?

Me thinks that OOB mapping is as "precise" as between FW and rough. Sometimes you're in, sometimes you're out. I've seen quite a few places where a ball outside the minimap was playable - here we see the opposite.

Not much trouble involved - the game goes on, and there are equal chances for ev1.

You could be right there Alosso. Especially on Merion. I have been well inside the fairway and ball was in rough.

Yup if OB line is like fairway line..... that is the problem right there. How about the holes where the pin is not centered in the cup?

But then again this is the Trans. tourney...... got to say done seen some weird happenings in that tourney. To the point i'm not playing it anymore for sure.

    Hi

Maybe just a stupid solution to that shot:

WGT wants all of us to buy The NIKE driver level 100!

Remember the mini-map is an aerial view of the whole 466yd par 4 5th.  The blue or white dot is merely a representation of where the ball is.  The ball itself would be a tiny white dot in the center of that representation.  The blue or white representation can be touching the border or even partially outside the border, yet the center of the representation is still inside the border.

    And partially outside the border....

As far as Spam's situation being the same as a fairway/rough mapping error?  Nonsense. Take a look at the above images.  My flop shot went 3 yards.  From just touching the border (like Spam's) to still in bounds after moving 3yds to the right and the ball representation extending over the border.  Spam's ball was at least 3yds inside where the OB boundary should be.

And if I keep exploring this hole I might find Sasquatch!

The same could be said for the ball being OOB in Spam's case then. Icon said the mapping is within a 1/4 inch.

BTW, I don't mean to just be argumentative and I still think Spam should get 1 ball back.

I didn't want to mention names but Yancy and Mel are out there right now with their chainsaws and such. They would have you believe aliens and such are to blame but I believe in physics !! you gotta lean a little left when you hit your shot and bite your tongue a little on the right side and it will work out !!   Try it next time !!

Huh? The center of Spam's ball's representation is inside the border.  How can it be OOB??
