Testing some Tourneys for Legends

  so just st andrews.  I would personally like to play the others also if possible.  Nothing to do this weekend lol

     I`ve only played a RG once before, so I thought I`d give it a "go" for the "experiment`s" sake. Big mistake on my part. I`ve never had so many glitches in One round before!

     Three or more putts that were well over powered and they came up short (yes, I took sharp notice of the wind :-)  . The worst was on #7 when I was 9.6ft from the hole with 16mph tailwind ( by this time I was "gun shy" ) and dinged my putt with 7.5ft of power which should have sailed well beyond the hole, even if it was right on line(which it Was) and it stopped 0.8ft from the hole. Not a "tournament speed" green that I`ve ever seen.

     On #8 my 3w(235yd) Choked down to about 220 with full bs into 19mph headwind Did sail....it Carried 225yds and bounced 22yds past that.

     My 132yd approach shot on #6 with a 19mph wind from 11 o`clock into my face, that I mis-hit left one bar with my 8i(145yds) and no spin, Carried 137yds and rolled to 148yds.

     My tee shot on #5 went 90yds after a severe meter freeze, landed on the front tee-box and the game proceeded to give me a driver and....a TEE for my second shot from the Front box. After sending a bug report, I used my 3w assuming that the mistake was the false ball-lie, and if I used the driver I`d be deeper in crap than I already was. :-). Well, of course my shot proceeded to carry 250yds and rolled to 275yds....off a tee apparently! I consoled myself with a par and expected to get one of the "really stupid" awards of not hitting the tee shot 100yds and making par or better....Ha, fat chance...no award at all!

     These are not even half the woes I encountered on my second ever ready go. I would say that the "experiment" was an Utter Failure!...at least it was for me ;-)

     I seriously doubt I`ll ever try any more WGT "experiments", at least I won`t at my Own expense, lol.

     Truly a Re-learning experience for myself....never expect to win at a "carnies game"!

  I think it's a good compromise.

  My personal gripe with the RGs lately are players with the same clubs hitting from different tees, but I understand where you guys are coming from. This throws us a bone at least.

  Sorry, I hadn't seen this thread prior to posting my response to the changes, but either way, here it is.

  "Why tier-specific RG's and tournaments will not stop sandbagging."

  If all RG's are made tier-specific, that just means that legends will be facing stiffer competition and that there will only be one "legend-only" RG a day.  Meanwhile, sandbaggers would still rake in the dough in the lower tiers.

  If you keep it how it is now -- normal RG's + 3 legend-only STA RG's, us legends can still play quite a few RG's a day, which is cool, but you still have the problem of sandbaggers.

  The only way to fix the sandbagging problem is to change the "average" algorithm.  Sorry, but making stuff tier-specific doesn't really accomplish much of anything, despite what some of the posters on this forum might say.

  i agreewith meftz,  absolute rip off this was,  havnt had this choppy of meter since i started(which wasnt long ago btw)  <----legend needle......4 putt 2 holes for no other reason then the meter glitch.

  Good start. At least it's a fair tournament with everyone playing from the same tees to the same greens.

  17 at StA's into the wind isn't such a good idea, the only piece of fairway reachable is about 5 yds wide, then it's another 240 yds to the green. Bad luck if you get this hole with  the wind into you, it's a good 5, or 6.

  Longer ball and driver would help also!

  Good Idea to me but I can't check scores in front 9 tourny havnt played others yet.

  You can't check them via the pop-up, but you can view them if you right-click and select "open in new tab/window."

  Good idea ... I also suggest to permit us to make practice with all different greens and tees in PRACTICE MODALITY GAME ... If I have to play with tournament or championship greens, I would like to make practice with them ... However these new tourneys are an important signal I think for all LEGENDS that you care about us ...Thnaks again.

  I guess I have more questions than answers.

  1. Was the goal of back 9 sta be off master tees?

  2. What happened to the heavy wind?

  IMO, 18 hole MUST BE heavy wind. Yes, some folks will get their ass kicked (including me), but there is nothing I enjoy more than a 31 side wind approach with wedge that side spins 15ft.

  Here is what I recommend:

  1. Tees, I don't care!

  2. Wind, at least 1 out 3 has to be heavy for each course.I prefer 18 because it's more of a grind and generally better player wins over 18 than 9.
