1st, wgt's answer for what I am about to describe is clean & clear cache and browser, delete adobe flash, reboot, re-install adobe flash. Please know I have done all this. Don't know if the following helps, but it runs on Windows 7 from the get go, and has 87% free space, and the laptop is just over 2 years old.

I was using google chrome without problem, when chrome would not load wgt past 25%. Everything else was OK. It got so bad that I had to delete chrome from my laptop. I have installed comodo dragon, which to this point is working fine, except for an occasional "aw, snap" or "wgt not responding". But at least I'm playing.

Maxthon, safari, and firefox all will not load wgt. Based on the browser, it loads anywhere from 11-52%, then freezes and says "wgt not responding".

I have cleaned and cleared, I have cleaned and cleared the clean and clear. I have defragged, and defragged the defrag. I have washed, dried, fluffed, ironed, folded everything but the toilet bowl......lol.

I am completely out of luck if comodo dragon craps out on me. I do not like just having 1 working browser for obvious reasons.

As usual, wgt has been no help. The last time I had a technical problem it cost me $500 of my own money to find out it was a load problem on wgt's end. I am about to go that route again.

Can any of our resident wgt computer geniuses help me or at least point me in the right direction?

Many thanks for your time, in advance...............................gv

It sounds like a slow computer to me and the download times out.

Also cleaning the registery and defragging it will help.

Not knowing the configuration of the box makes commenting hard.

Loading windows 7 or 8 onto a box that doesn't have the capability of running the platform properly will do it also. They will tell you it will run but doesn't really when you get into high end graphics.

Any idea how much of your PC/Laptop RAM is been used up Vader? You may have cleaned the hell out of it, but if its jam packed with unnecessary stuff, that will slow it down no end. Just posting this as it may lead to an answer, but not sure?

I recommend CCleaner, it has a good registry cleaner. It sped up my system nicely.

Is your laptop clogged up with fluff and overheating?

Almost sounds like you have too many browsers using resources. Very bizarre.

$500? Did you use the Geek Squad?

I would recommend using Malwarebytes. With all the crap that gets into your computer from "free offers" a lot of things may be hijacking your browser or running in the background as malware and or spyware. This would be in addition to the suggestion of CCleaner to clear the cache and fix the registry. Both these programs are free

Twominusone touched on what could be causing the problem. Have you been able to play OK on this computer in the past? Is this something that's been happening more frequently as time passes? Does it take a long time to reboot where it didn't used to? It sounds like you have a lot of stuff going on in the background that you might not know about and that could be jamming you up.

The msconfig file is where you'll find what starts up when you turn the machine on. See if there aren't a lot of things starting you didn't know about and don't need. It is really easy to correct. GL

First I'm no genius but all of these ideas have merit... I will simply suggest that you give comodo ice dragon a shot.

       best of luck jay.
