i was under the impression that after about 20 games your bad games don't count against your average. i've played just over 20 as a master but my bad games still hurt my average. how many do i have to play before i don't have to worry about a bad game?

I believe at Master it's 50, might be 100, but way more than 20. Dont be in a rush to advance,  your game will take you to the level it should be in due time.

The number is different for every tier. I think at Master you have to play 40 Ranked stroke play rounds of some kind before your average saturates. That doesn't include Best of 3 and Best of 5 to my knowledge

Yep - You need 40 ranked rounds before your scoring average is 'saturated' and your score can no longer go up:

    • you need to play at least 5 ranked rounds as hack before reaching Amateur
    • you need to play at least 10 ranked rounds as amateur before reaching Pro
    • you need to play at least 20 ranked rounds as Pro before reaching Tour pro
    • you need to play at least 25 ranked rounds as Tour pro before reaching Master
    • you need to play at least 40 ranked rounds as Master before reaching Tour Master
    • you need to play at least 50 ranked rounds as Tour Master before reaching Legend
    • You need at least 500 ranked rounds as Legend before reaching Tour Legend

    ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

    • When your scoring average is equal or smaller than 100 you go from hack to amateur.
    • When it is equal or smaller than 80 you go from amateur to pro.
    • When it is equal or smaller than 72 you go from pro to tour pro
    • When it is equal or smaller than 67 you go from tour pro to Master
    • When it is equal or smaller than 63 you go from Master to Tour master
    • When it is equal or smaller than 61 you go from Tour master to legend
    • When it is equal or smaller than 60 you go from Legend to Tour Legend*

Excuse me, would you mind to correct this

    ApexPC:
You need at least 100 ranked rounds as Legend before reaching Tour Legend

to be 500, and perhaps add this line:

"That doesn't include Best of 3 and Best of 5"

    Thank you in advance!

P.S. 100 was correct for Legends saturated before TL was introduced.

It gets worse. At Legend, after 500 rounds, a 29 reduces your average by .02 at first declining to .01. This should probably be addressed by WGT. Don't guess I'll hold my breath.

    Poor ole lad!

WGT can't do anything unless they lower the 500 rounds rule.

The smallest change in saturation is 1 stroke between 500 rounds, 1/500 = 0.002. You may not even see it due to rounding.

And, having a 60.00 average display will be no guarantee of becoming a TL. 60.000 will be necessary  :)
