grumpyolddom: Now my game is really improving!!!! In fact I am leading a CC. Tournament now
Glad that is happening well played.
grumpyolddom: Same 23% 1 putt player? Do you think that the game forces you to claw your way up the ladder and once you reach a certain level it rewards you with LOW Scores? I will give you a example. I shot a round in my CC. tournament which was good enough to put me in 1st place. At Kiawah only a -6 under but I was very happy with that!
Stats: Your game is on the up, and WGT stats are slow to move. I never looked at your very recent score history this time. All good as the game is working:)
grumpyolddom: I suddenly totally forgot how to play this game!! Was lucky to hit 40% of my dings. Putts were flying all over the place. Wind was not effecting shots then suddendly it would blow up a gale.
Well join the club lol. Last week I have hardly heard a ding. Unusually bad run but happens to me as much as anyone. I shot a 26 at Oakmont moderate wind then straight off to Beth B9 and struggle to 30 in low wind....Go figure. I will say though that sometimes I when I am playing badly longer putts that just luck out when playing well don't(:......That respect it's a bit like RL. I have honestly not had any prolonged problems with wind (on the golf course at any rate)
grumpyolddom: play a lot of AS this
Fair enough. More than one road. Most seem to enjoy the banter and don't really learn a course doing it. Great fun but personally I really learn playing a course on my own. Can be useful discussing stuff with real good players in A/S as well though etc...
grumpyolddom: Jim I am afraid I am not going to change your feelings about this game. And I think you will not alter mine that this game is rigged but I still hope that we can have this discussion and agree to disagree.
Fair enough. It's an open forum for opinions. All I can say is that my road to TL was mostly away from RGs / other earning potential of any kind. On that road I had bumps. I whizzed to required Legend average, then don't mind admitting I hit a brick wall. I remember well that my average at Legend was 72 after an outing to St As for my first game as Legend. Master is huge jump from T Pro and sounds like the adjustment is now well under way, and well played. I will say that in my experience you can get to Legend, and beyond as soon as you like if you have the game. OK Legend is way more enjoyable (scoring wise) with L90 R11 irons IMO I will say that, and they make TL v possible (early 90s level wise if play RRs, and each to own on that). My road saw no everyday RRs / MP with friends / AS doing anything other than letting me play most of the time. The few WTFs happen. Notice I have only mentioned the everyday stuff...I have stayed out of my opinion on the big ones / RGs and please no one take any inference one way or the other from that (given my VEM, sometimes putts short RG thoughts elsewhere lol). People like Notonthis, BB, Fmags, etal who have posted videos doing it though only have my admiration. Others such as Dan I have not seen play, but other very good players who I understand know him often refer to his immense hard work, and all these people deserve what they have got therefore.
In summary IMO just play, let the WTFs come and go as the overall path can be very enjoyable now that you have your game going in the right direction. I would say on the wind know your calcs inside out appreciating a strong tail wind has a flattening effect. Also remember you have high spin clubs now, so do watch for spin settings carefully as smaller differences can make big differences to outcome. Something to consider if not done so already:)
grumpyolddom: Good Luck To You!
And to you Sir.
