I understand some of the tier stuff, but i don't get they determine "when" you get to move up a tier.  For me it seems like every time i get my score average to 72 it moves me up a rank.  Is this right?  I ask because i have seen people with averages in the 60's that maintain a worse rank than me.  I know it sounds silly, but i am happy at my tier right now and am not good enough to keep moving up tiers yet.  How can i stay where i am at?

Each time you tier up your average score will have to be at a lower level than it was at your previous tier up. It gets harder as you go along.

    WGT – Tiers

    • When you have played at least 5 ranked rounds - and your average score is equal to or lower than 100 you go from Hack to Amateur.
    • When you have played at least 10  ranked rounds - and your average score is equal to or lower than 80 you go from Amateur to Pro.
    • When you have played at least 20 ranked rounds - and your average score is equal to or lower than 72 you go from Pro to Tour Pro
    • When you have played at least 30 ranked rounds - and your average score is equal to or lower than 67 you go from Tour Pro to Master
    • When you have played at least 40  ranked rounds - and your average score is equal to or lower than 63 you go from Master to Tour Master
    • When you have played at least 50 ranked rounds - and your average score is equal to or lower than 61 you go from Tour Master to Legend
    • When you have played at least 500  ranked rounds - and your average score is equal to or lower than 60 you go from Legend  to Tour Legend

Notice that those minimal number of ranked rounds are also the number of best rounds used to compute your average in that particular tier. So if you are Tour Master for example, your average is computed with your best 50 ranked round (that's why you need at least 50 rounds to move up)

Thanks so much.  I had found the "general" answers to the tiers but could never find the actual numbers required to move up.  Thank you again for the breakdown Apex.

You are only as good as you want to be , just that simple . There are two types of people , those who think they can , and those who think they cant . Neither one of them is wrong . Now which one are you ?

The safest way is to play only practice rounds. By strictly following this, your tier and average wlll never move.

If you dislike this diet, i.e. with ranked and rated rounds,

    - never win any credits,

    - abort any "perfect" round which might be better than the next threshold,

    - stay away from the Pro Shop - the fun of better gear goes with too low results.

This comes along with short driving and low approaches, "fairways and greens" the hard way. You'd never see an approach sticking next to the flag like a dart, you'd rather cheer on some greens that you haven't missed them once in a thousand.

    Anyway, have fun!
