Considering the cost of the new 700c Nikes. How much would it cost for a player to move from say....Level 96>97, and so on? What would the cost be using Nike Lvl 71's for instance. I am just curious. And are the Notebooks value?

120 hits per ball not counting putts, so a sleeve of Nike 2.5 dot Durability balls has 360 hits.

Assuming an average score of 65 with 25 putts per round for a total of 40 hits per round. So a sleeve lasts for 9, 18 hole rounds

There are some significant variables in earning XP. Playing tournaments pays more XP than just playing regular ranked rounds. Multi-player rounds earn a little more XP than playing tournament rounds. Of course your score also earns XP so the better you play the less XP per round you get. Awards also earn XP as does the days-in-a-row award

    880 days-in-a-row XP + 65 score XP + 400 18 hole ranked round = 1345 XP

Add a second 18 hole round per day and the total XP per day would be 1800 XP per day and use up 2/3 of a ball. So you need to open a new sleeve every 4.5 days.

Level 96 to Level 99 requires accumulating 725112 XP.

    So, 725112 XP / 1800 XP/day = 402.8 days

    402.8 XP days / 4.5 days per sleeve = 90.8 sleeves

    90.8 sleeves x 700 credits = 63,560 credits or 78.5 credits per round ($0.785)

    ------------------------------------------------------------------------

    Level 96  XP 1291355

    Level 97  XP 1513144

    Level 98  XP 1764760

    Level 99  XP 2016467

    Level 100  XP 2268312

So not even a cup of coffee is what you're saying :)

Yep. Very cheap entertainment even using 700 credits per sleeve virtual golf balls..

That's also assuming you never chuck one into the drink or the really nasty cabbage.

If you can go ninety 18 hole rounds and never lose a ball prematurely, I'd buy you a sleeve.

After 1069 consecutive days playing I have a 66.57 average, 149 friends, about 10 that I actually see for a game and a collection of balls I have acquired over time. Cost used to be a little high, last few months has been .00. I have 29 credits I am saving for a rainy day. When you put it  in perspective, this game is relatively cheap to many things in real life. I must admit the price of balls is getting close to real life prices, but they have to make money so we can have this game. My response would be the cost is what you want out of it. I have been level 96 for months and months. I usually play an AS or 2 a night or my one hole for the cdp. This game has become like the new 2015 SS I am looking at. I can't afford it, will never get it so no sense spending a lot of time thinking about it. The friends I have made over the years are worth every dollar I spent on here. The conversations and some of the memories and laughs are priceless. No cost is too much for that.

Very good analysis Apex and great points Renn.

This game is cheap compared to many forms of entertainment. Certainly cheaper than a night out on the piss, or even a cup of coffee costs me $4.00 minimum and that is gone in minutes.

And the friendships albeit virtual are worth every cent, the laughs and pleasure the game has given me is testament to that.

WGT is a business first and foremost and as such must make money or there is no game, period. However IMHO it does appear that the  company  is getting a tad greedy with the pricing of new equipment.

Perhaps the cost of a pixel has increased, perhaps we over-estimate how  profitable  WGT really is, or perhaps it is just greed.

But what the company does risk, is it could alienate a lot of people from playing, or playing less. Yes we all have a choice but many want to have a level playing field.

If the target is to get XP, no need expensive balls, you can do it with starter balls which cost nothing.

^And very useful if you want to just mulligan, I went from level 78 to level 96 in about 6 weeks that way (12/27/13 to 2/13/14), sometimes doing 120k a day, but usually 20-30k a day.

It can cost nothing if you use the offers, surveys and videos. (Not in all countries though)
