Mafias1982:
I begin the virtual tour in the tour pro tier so I will appear always on the tour pro leaderboard. Maybe I will continue advancing in tiers but I will still appear on tour pro leaderboard.
So this is not an equal competition because I will compite with players in a lower tier than me.
So the normal thing will be that all the tourneys of the virtual tour will have the same tier as the tier which a player begin the WGT VIrtual Tour.
Yes and no - it ain't easy to achieve Justice here.
Your competition in this Championship will be split:
Each month, you will be entering the tournament in your current tier - today: Master - and compete with players of the same tier. With each promotion, it will become more difficult to achieve top positions (and wins) in the respective tournaments. OTOH, the prize pots are growing from tier to tier.
In another discussion we discovered that the position in the overall "Tour" scoreboards will only be altered when a player achieves a credit winning position in a later tournament.
Today's conclusion is that players are promoted to the highest tier scoreboard where they win credits.
Alas, your winnings will be added to your position in the original tier - Tour Pro (1) - and you will be eligible to the Championship prizes of that tier, exclusively.
(1) I verified this with the top players of the TP leaderboard. At least one of them played the Transamerica as a Master.
As a downside, the
lower leaderboards will become free for new players, the final winner may
be a fairly new TP.
Good thing is, this will happen to all players alike.
Imagine the alternatives:
a1) Players who started as TPs would compete in the monthly tournaments as TPs, regardless of their current tier. Thus, competition would become easier for them through the year, eventually turning all tiered competitions into Legend competitions.
a2) Players would travel through the Championship leaderboard tiers when rising, taking their winning totals with them. Then, the lower leaderboards would be free for new players, the final winner would be a fairly new TP.
a3) The tour positions would stick in the original tier's leaderboard.
Which way is the best way? I only know that I'd vote a1) to be the worst.
