I currently own the lvl 84 r11 TaylorMade 3wd and was wondering about the R11S 3wd lvl 95.  Please could anyone who has own both state some of the advantages of the lvl 95 one.  It would help if you were to give examples where the new club is better suited than the old one.  I see that that many high level players use the max but really meter speed is not an issue for me.  Sorry If this subject's been broached before I looked in the search box and could not find any succinct information.  Lastly anyone think a new 3wd will be released in the near future?  Thank you in advance for any info-gdog8

See here.    I have seen a few saying the R11S does not seem to function as well as it used to, but I can't comment on that as I only use the L92 Max 3 wood now.

Most seem say they can't believe not already, just wondering what price really lol.  That and my new L70 based Versa putter with an extra half dot precision - had get that in too :)

I plan to upgrade to the R11s Lvl 95+ 3 wood for the additional Forgiveness it has over the Lvl 84+ R11 3 wood.

The Max Lvl 92+ 3-wood has less Precision than the Lvl 84+ R11 3 wood and a price that for me is far to high for the performance of the club. To me the meter speed difference is the least important of the club attributes these particular clubs have.

I've owned both the R11 3woods and to be honest there isn't any difference between the 2. The R11s can be a bit unpredictable and at times can go off line anything up to 10yds.

If i were you i'd wait until wgt release a new 3 wood. There has to be 1 soon as we're long overdue 1. My guess is something from Nike.

I had both R11's...you really don't hit it enough to see much difference in forgiveness, might be a little more forgiving off the tee...distances are the same...one thing I really liked about it was that with the r11 driver, 3 wd, with nike irons and cleveland wedges made my meter speed the same on ALL clubs, and it does make a huge difference...I'm using the nike lvl 100 driver but I am probably going to switch to my lvl 94 r11 driver for that reason...

back @ L94 I was told that this 3 wood is very forgiving
by everyone who used it, so when I got to L95 I rushed to buy it
and sure enough it was the same as the R11 one that I already owned,
should have bought the already tested MAX one, but such is the wgt experience.
from what I understand it was downgraded right around the time I bought it,
so now I guess the more forgiving club would be the MAX.

my suggestion is to hold out until the masters week,
we'll probably have a rent free weekend along with new products to try out.

I disagree. I found the R11s an improvement, particularly in controlling the landing, plus it's longer even though the stats say they're the same in distance.

Fatdan's point about meter speed is excellent.

I agree, thinking back I didn't hit many balls250-260+ with the R11 even with a tailwind and it does hold greens a little better even though the stats are the same...I haven't lost any balls on the Congressional par5 over the lake with the S....

Yeh, but I was talking about forgiveness Jim.
if I hit the ding it's a dream club to have, but if I miss it
even by a little bit towards the wind, it's 10-20 yards off (depending on wind speed),
and when I missed it with the max on rent free weekend, it didn't do that,
but rather was very forgiving much like the R1 is.

I'm assuming towards the wind means on the wrong side of the ding. Please correct me if I'm wrong there. If that's the case, missing on the wrong side of the ding is instant death-you get all of the wind and right now, forgiveness or no forgiveness.
