Why isn't there any way to see what kind of life is left on a ball before you start a round ?  That way you can decide to use it or switch to another before the round seeing as how you can't switch to a different ball once the round starts.  A lot of us in real life aren't pros and sometimes we have more than 1 type of the ball in our bag.

*edit* or maybe when it reaches red a numerical figure telling us how many hits left exactly?

You can line up a solo game, take a look and then cancel but is does take time.

It would be nice if when you go to edit clubs before starting a round you were shown the remaining life of the ball being used for each type you have in your bag.

You can always do as Courteney suggested but she's right, it is a bit of a faff.

I'm not sure exactly for what you are looking. The graphic in the lower right hand corner of the screen (Called "HITS" - under the ball) tells you how much life if left in your ball.  If it is RED and just a little less that 50% remains, you can probably get 18 holes out of it - but if the match is really important - buy more or change! Please understand that I am not "talking down" to you - just unsure as to what you want.

If you open a "practice round", you can see how much life is left & immediately closing the screen after a peek doesn't affect anything.

Thanks.  But when you have 4 or 5 different types of balls in your bag (due to niceness of WGT giving out a free ball on holidays or for tournies etc) it would be nice to know if the ball you have equipped would make it through the AS match or MP you've been invited to.  I like to use up the free balls on these and not in tournaments but I hate to have it used up and be forced to use starter balls to finish and penalizing your partner.

Do what CF said, prior to playing set up a solo round, see what the hit scale tells you.

    Look this thread : http://www.wgt.com/forums/t/167684.aspx

Alls brand balls have 2.5 dots and a durability of 120 hits. Only WGT balls have differents dots and durability.

Specials series from WGT are generaly customed Srixon Z-Star. (not all time, check the number of dots).

    Not true.

The Callaway /Legend balls only have 2.0 durability.

WGT B-XD 10 credits per sleeve balls have 2.5 durability and are rated at 150 hits per ball in this table:

    WGT Ball Durability

The following ball durability chart chart was compiled earlier this year by a few members of The Peoples Club:

    * Putts do not count as hits & are not included, except putts from the fringe.

    ** Calculated based on 21 hits per 9-hole round (par 36 with 67% green-in-regulation).

There are a few empty fields and the new Nike balls aren't listed, but I can atest to the accuracy of the statistics.

As you can see, dots of durability as provided by WGT can be a bit inaccurate.
