devoted strictly to Closest to the Hole games ONLY ?  And so few courses where you can play Alternate Shot, and Match play, etc., games.

It's seems a shame that so many of the courses here can only be played very briefly in CTTH games.  What a friggin waste.

Cost. CTTH requires a lot less photographs and a lot less programming / mapping.

I agree it's a shame (as apparently do most of the membership) but that's the way it is.

If only it were that easy to create full 18 hole courses. The range of ctth courses I thinks great and never gets boring and I find also great practise although my "'weekend hacker'' status is here to stay :)

Sorry but I disagree, and by extensive Profile analysis; the vast majority of members only play 9 Holes and apparently don't appreciate 18 Holes of golf? So Eight 18-Hole Courses + 4 Mixed 18-Hole Courses is more than most deserve IMO and many 9-Holers ruin almost 100% of all 18-Hole searches because they choose the 'Any' option for the number of holes they want to play, even though they only want to play 9 holes; which of course, also interrupts 18-Holes Searches as well and they don't care and/or are oblivious to how that ruins 18-Hole Searches and it is their right to choose 'Any'? But as soon as they see it's an 18-Hole Search, they leave instead of respectfully choosing 'Any 9' which is what they're looking for in the first place. lol  THAT is mainly why it's almost Impossible to find Any 18-Hole A/S or Match games and therefore has now made the Search Mode almost completely useless for all intents and purposes especially for people who want to play 18 Holes? I presumed at first, that most people would want to play 18 holes but obviously I was dead wrong. lol

A suggestion has been made to WGT to add a '18-Hole Only' Search Feature but that has been ignored so far. Which is why many members don't even use the Search feature anymore and also probably why they have turned to playing more CTTHs, including myself because Searching for 18-holes is just a complete waste of time now? So I made the suggestion to WGT to eliminate the "Any" option and just use the following 4 options only for choosing the number of holes to play:

    1. Any 18 holes  2. Any 9 Holes  3. Any Front 9  4. Any Back 9 which would likely help solve the problem and make the Search Mode useful and fair for all but that went ignored too. So 18-Holers are simply being ignored for some reason and I guess the Majority rules which are the 9-Holers? ;)

Actually it's 10, 18 hole stroke play courses not counting the Best Of courses.

Oakmont Country Club (2007/2016 US Open) • Congressional Country Club (2011 US Open) • Kiawah Island Resort Ocean Course • St. Andrews Links (2015 British Open) • Royal St. George's (2011 British Open) • Merion Golf Club (2013 US Open) • Bethpage Black (2009 US Open)• Olympic Club Lake Course (2012 US Open) • Whistler (Canada) • Cabo Del Sol (Mexico)

We well be getting 4 more 18 hole courses in the next year or so.

Pinehurst #2 - 2014 US Open venue - very soon

Bandon Dunes - 18 par 3's - photographed and programming is in progress.

Pebble Beach - scheduled to have the photography done.

Chambers Bay - 2015 US Open venue.

Most suggestions get ignored, and not just here on WGT.

I will & do both 18 or 9, it doesn't matter to me. I appreciate what we have, will welcome anything new, and have yet to perfect or master what is available.

WGT is doing fine and darned few of us have managed to master the courses that we have.  Considering the amount of code that goes into a single course, I am even more impressed with the number of courses that it offers.

For Oldstir - most of us are happy with what is currently offered and appreciate that more are in the 'pipeline' -  if the offerings do not suit you, fine! Play the game as you please.

I play a fair number of 9 hole courses because I have a 43 minute butt and a 32 minute attention span. I play 18 (when I must) for CC or monthly Tourneys - it's nice to have the choice  : )

    ApexPC:

Whistler (Canada) • Cabo Del Sol (Mexico)

I don't count Whistler and Cabo because they are not Free to play.

While they are different indeed, I beg to differ: They are in the weekly single play rota at no costs.

Try to stick with the topic if you can, quote: "Eight 18-Hole Courses + 4 Mixed 18-Hole Courses is more than most deserve".  Which means I too am "happy with what is currently offered"; referring to the Courses.  Did God tell you that: "You know how most of us" feel?  LOL

However, if you disagree with an opinion or suggestion of mine, that's fine but just reply on behalf of your self without pretending to even think You have a clue what most people think which is sound advice perhaps?. ;)  Have a blessed day.
