Hitting the center of the cup you can still sink it with 7ft to much power

Yep..was thinkin along the same lines...champ greens that is

Now,  come on you two Guns of the game.

The OP has given a pretty good putting tip for everybody.  No need dragging him down.

My question....  to you both.  On Champs with a 7ft Putt....  do you still aim at the hole or do you hit a little bit harder than usual or less or aom a little bit wider.  Not forgetting the extrem rolls on the green

LOL no gun here mantis,I was referring to how much power you can ram those 3 footers in with and still have them drop center cup,( fairly straight putts),when it comes to 10 ft or less I carefully look at the break and elevation of course,,as a general rule I use .7 as a multiplier on all my putts on champ greens unless they are less than 5ft then I will use footage stated to overcome some break ,as you well know there are a lot of variables but I always tell players who are not used to champ greens to not be to timid on what they might see as a tap in....hit'em straight y'all...:)

I don't know about the 5.5 feet past; I think this one was gonna go at least 12 past if it had missed:

Don't even know why I'm commenting on such a ridiculous quote, maybe just so the OP know's that this could'nt be further from the truth.

I was basically saying that WGT's stat for un-makeable putts was little off the mark IMO, so absolutley no need for you Mr.Mantis to try and twist my words.

    Interesting!

Not sure about 5.5 ft being non-makable though.

Just to be clear - They are talking about you hitting your putt strong enough for the ball to go 5.5 feet or more past the hole. Regardless the distance from the ball to the hole before the putt is attempted.

I slam putts like that all the time. They go in without any problems. Really for a 10 foot putt on champ green with zero elevation i'm hitting that putt 15-18 feet. If not will come up 2 inches short. The champ greens in some games are very fast if that. Think might not even have champ greens anymore.

If miss and goes way past,,,, no problems i ram that sucker too. With the champ greens rolling like they are now i ram everything. I ram till goes in.  :)

Maybe back in 2010 that worked. Nope not today. Today try and putt a ball so goes 12 inches past cup if missed will never make it to the hole. At least if i'm playing. :)

    LOL Wood.

I say its crazy. When champ greens first came out if i had a 10 foot putt with zero elevation i would hit that putt 7 feet and make it without any problems.

Try that today.... lol. Remember the putt on Merion hole #3. The one when you hit a little long and leave the putt above the hole.

During the qualifier and all of last year if you hit that putt any harder than 4 feet you would blow it almost off the green. Now i'm hitting that putt for whatever the distance is. That should not be happening. But........ got to do whatever works. Yup.... ram!

If not get the one that stops 2 inches from hole and makes the sound thump. Yup that is how you know you have just been bent over. Yup rover taking over. No more thump sounds for me. I like it when they hit the back of the hole and jump up in the air 2 feet then fall in.

Right now getting replay collection together. Trying to see how high ball will go up in air before dropping. Think so far got one that went like 4 foot in air then dropped.  Funny shite for sure. Also i find anything under 10 feet the punch driver works nicely.

    :)

Well just played first Ready go without putter. I think i did okay. Punch driver works killer. :) Yup don't got to worry about coming up 2 inches short. Then shot 28 on Oly. front nine Ready go right after. Don't have to play as much break, and i find much easier to ding too. Think might be on to something. Although i did play a multi player round and the players didn't seem to like it much.  Lmao!
