Having this as an option would be absolutely brilliant. I've been in the position lots of times when either my opponent or myself had a nailed-on sub-2ft putt for birdie, but had to wait while the other player made par/bogey or even worse.
I think it's one of the reasons so many Matchplay games end prematurely with a win by a Time-Out
