    Corwyn:

I really should have caught you this week... I was coming down the 15th at -11 in good position to attack for eagle but completely lost focus from then on, lol! In my defense, I was being interrupted every couple of minutes by my son, who'd volunteered to make breakfast and got up early to do it, only to bombard me with questions about the recipe and where to find things. I proceeded to give away 5, maybe even 6, shots on the remaining holes (including a calculation putting error on 17, and then, needing birdie to tie the lead, I made the monumental course management risk of trying the beach route on 18... I wouldn't recommend it!)

I refuse to feel sympathy after your 25 in the monthly multi, heh.

Ha, ha! Yup, that was definitely a case of going from "Oh Yeah!" to "Oh, Dear...!"

(I should say the 25 was really lucky, and included a couple of long bombs after awful approaches)

Obviously it's a busy week for WGT, but hopefully we'll get the credit allocations for the wk23 Cabo tourney tomorrow, and head into the weekend with a clearer picture of what kind of finish all of the contenders need in this week's final round at Kiawah.

Good luck to everyone still to play!

The Spring UEL Tour reaches its finale this weekend, alongside all the parallel US Open excitement!

WGT allocated credit prizes this morning for wk23 at Cabo, so I now have been able to update the spreadsheet so you can all see exactly where you stand.

At Cabo, the big news was this Tour's best overall score (excluding the Bo5 week), an -18 54 from bhoese. Congrats again Ben on a fantastic round! Ben's score gave him his second win of the Tour. BigKnight shot a super 57 (for 2nd place) which would surely have won in any other week.

In Legend tier, mmyers0 once again came up trumps with another 60, again winning by 2 shots from 5 others, while Corwyn had a disastrous bogey/double finish to end up tied for 7th 3 shots back.

Please note that now that we have 11 completed tourneys, the best 9 scores are now being calculated for those particular standings, so look and see which scores you may be able to supplant in these last couple of weeks to improve your position.

Ryder Cup qualification standings are still very close for the final places. Visit this thread to see the current situation for both Team USA and Team ROW in terms of which players among those declaring themselves as candidates are on track to qualify.

    --------

To see all the details view the spreadsheet, but for those who can't access the new Google Sheets, here are some snapshots of some of the Standings sheets here in the thread (note that they're only the top 35+ places, just what fits on my screen).

I left the door wide open this week. After a sizzling start, I failed to birdie either par 3 on the front and then bogeyed #9 for a 30 (my approach found a knoll just short and bounded to the back on the green, 60 feet away).

Then on the back, my driver got a bit wild and I missed three consecutive fairways, failing to birdie all three. I had to birdie 17 and 18 just for a 61.

I can't complain about my putting this week; I only had kick-in birdies on #1 and #7, but I made 7 putts from outside 11 feet. The only blemish was the missed 5-footer for par on 9, but I made up for it with a 9-footer to save par on 16 after I foolishly attempted to hit 3-wood from 20-25% rough and hit it straight into the face of the fairway bunker. My average distance to pin was 16.5 but total putt distance was 139 feet.

Nice round mm! It wouldn't surprise me if you pick up a third straight win with your 61.

For myself, I had one of those frustrating days at Kiawah en route to a disappointing 65, where too many tee shots left me with trickier-than-hoped for downhill/sidehill lies, and too many 10-20ft leaves instead of closer. I played the par 5s terribly, finding sand off the tee twice, and in general, just couldn't sink enough putts: 28 putts with an 85 ft total distance.

    ---------------

In TL tier, Ben has done it again, shooting a second week in a row -18 round of 54 to hold the clubhouse lead. Fantastic stuff, Ben! You and mm are hitting a rich vein of form as the Tour closes.

Three weeks ago I was convinced the UEL Ryder Cup would be a ROW walkover, but now I'm more optimistic.

That was my thinking a few weeks ago too. A few more USA flags have been scoring well in the UEL weekly and RGs.

Yes, huge congrats to Ben, to mm, and to all the USA players that finished so strong in recent weeks.

The Spring Tour is now concluded, but I'm awaiting WGT's allocation of credit prizes for wk24 @ Kiawah in order to wrap up the spreadsheet. I've added scores in already to the sheet, but just need the credits as well to make it all final.

There are prizes to distribute, and final Ryder Cup team placings to confirm, so please stay tuned...

I'd like to offer thanks and congratulations to Corwyn for yet another superbly run competition. Your dedication and commitment is unsurpassed.

I didn't manage any good rounds in this Tour, only a 56 in a UEL RG at RSG in high winds during the Tour period - possibly my best ever UEL round. So my Tour highlight has to be seeing Ben's back to back 54s these last two weeks. This shows a level of excellence to which we can all aspire.
