I will be upgrading my iron set in the next couple of weeks. I am looking at the Ping K-15 (Graphite) (L36+) and the Max Meter (L23+) because both have a slow meter speed rating of 4.5 which I want.
The iron set yardages are also similar, 195-105 and 190-100, respectively. Unfortunately, none of the iron set descriptions include the individual iron yardages for the set. I would like to know these to help with my decision of which iron set to get.
Can anyone provide the individual iron yardages for either or both sets?
Thanks,
There are 15 yards between each iron...either set......
I have the K15's and used them between L38 and the G20's at 59 (got them at 60). Yardages:
3i = 195
4i = 185
5i = 175
6i = 165
7i = 150
8i = 135
9i = 120
PW = 105
You also may want to look at waiting for the G20s and get 3 of the Ping Tour W wedges, as they (3 of them) open on the next level, and 3 more at 42, dropping the hybrid in the process.
I would think it's 5 yds less for the MAX ones at L23.
So you are saying that both sets are evenly spaced at either 12 or 13 yards between clubs? (90 yard spread / by 7 gaps = 12.86 average gap).
I was curious because the starter clubs also have a 90 yard spread from 3 thru W and they are not evenly spaced between clubs. They have a 10 yard gap between the 3 and 6 irons, a 13 yard gap between the 6 and 7, a 12 yard gap between the 7 and 8, a 15 yard gap between the 8 and 9, and a 20 yard gap between the 9 and W.
The yardages are approximations.
Lie, shot type, what ball you play, elevation, wind, ball spin, stroke strength, Ding! or not dinged, where the ball lands, which course you're playing, etc - all affect the distance a shot goes.
