I'm a real knob when it comes to PC savay, but have managed through trial and error, to get with the program as far as performance here on WGT.  I was wondering though if anyone knew if a 2nd PC hooked to my same modem would affect performance when both are in use.  I have FIOS Quantuam and run on Firefox browser, and until recently when my step-son moved back and hooked his up, my meter and games overall have been gr8. Just since then though things are getting where I'm rebooting and scanning more than I would think was necessary and when he's not on-line the problem seems to subside.  Any advice would be greatly appreciated.  TY in advance---Ed

    On a wireless connection?

When I play on a laptop with wi/fi and my  kids are watching netflix the game suffers, if I am on the desktop w/ hardwire connection it doesn't...

I have 4 desktop computers linked up via 2 wifi modems to a 10 Mb ADSL + line.

If all 4 computers are in use, then I do notice a slow down in my game, and a less than perfect meter.

Hard to say if ur stepson's activites will hurt ya, but it will obviously have some effect, how much is anyones guess

Two users playing under the same IP (connection) might face the official allegation of multi-accounting of one person.

Icon, how could this be prevented?

I don't think it can be, my son's account was suspended when he came home from University.

I got wi fi in the house and its fine till the kids get home, as soon as they start playing their games I get meter spikes/stutters/delays etc making it impossible to play - time to get the dinner on!

Big lesson here folks, do not ever have more than 1 account playing from the same household. I went home for a few weeks and they booted my old mans TL 2009 account.

CS is arrogant as heck as well, puts him into a rather peculiar bind now, not many options available to him.

Can you name his options and the pitfalls of each?

I would of used a VPN had I known they were this retarted. Next time I'm home i will indeed.

Watch for him, He's the next pro to top the leaderboards, something for the leaderboard hunters to do, i guess, but really, what other option did they give him.

A computer, wireless or otherwise will only have 1 IP address. You'll have 1 gateway IP address via the modem, but each computer or device will have it's own IP address. I have between 5-12 computer/devices running at any given time and each has it's own IP address.
