How about a multiple round, single play tournament format like the PGA tour? Four rounds with different wind and pin positions would be a great challenge. It would encourage players to take fewer chances and reward consistently good play. I like to watch Bubba Watson take risks and create shots as much as anyone, but the PGA tour also rewards consistent players like Kuchar, Furyk, Stricker, and Zach Johnson. If you could shoot 2 under every day, you would be in the top 10 of most PGA tournaments.
