i really doubt it's anything to do with Nike - the event is in fact still a Dick's event as part of the series - pretty positive that's got everything to do with it - it's the same argument as the very first time -

I can't fault wgt really - why would they turn down a chance at cash (assuming they got any from nike or dicks) - I think, what's really being asked by members here is that they take a stand and say all inclusive or nothing at all......in which case this game might disappear sooner than later due to such a moral stance with investers/advertisers/sponsors.

anyway, more a dicks issue than nike -

ps......who's to say nike doesn't have games out there with 'prizes' offered only to ROW customers?  they can't walk all over their already in place agreements, but sure shouldn't stop them from getting into other markets that they're not already locked into-or out of by previous aggreements.

it's not equal footing, and i do feel bad - but let's lay the reasons where they belong.  I'm not sure where those are, if at all, but can't blame wgt in my book.

More Female avatars in general would be nice.

And why , when new one off avatars are available, do they mostly only come with dicks ?

    C+P'd from another thread -

     alcaucin:
Just at the time the free Nike avatars are been given away in the US Only comp !

Andy - that there has totally soured my opinion of WGT and their (complete lack of) business ethics.

To put an item on sale for a week then give it away free to only one nation in their worldwide custom base quite frankly stinks. I was kindly gifted a nike avatar but that doesn't alter the fact that this was a premeditated and cynical ploy by WGT. I love this game and usually am a supporter of it* but this to me is just beyond the pale.

    * I now believe my support of WGT was actually a straw man. Thinking about it , it was to justify my addiction and the insane amount of time and money I spend playing it.

I need a re-think, this has let me utterly disillusioned and sickened

did you read my post Paul?  did it make any sense that it might not be a wgt stance at all? apart from telling potential sponsors to stuff it due to lack of 100% inclusion?

    just wondering

The only problem with this Duff, is the avatar doesn't have a big Dick......'s on the sleeve or have Blue Dick.......'s shoes. It has a Nike swoosh and Nike Blue Suede Shoes, so they are in the spotlight right now.

I'm sure i wont be here tomorrow. I have let WGT and their sponsors know my feelings. I was told, females, people of color and non-Americans just arent as popular.

From a city as progressive as SF is, for them to allow this, is very disheartening.

good points - i suppose the avatar would've been better suited to be in a non-restricted tourney - if it was possible to do so.  maybe dicks and nike have an agreement? who knows....Dick's simply appears to be trying to sell the new Nike shoes

I think wgt 'allowed' it to happen, sure, in that 'why would they say no' to money - regardless of whatever agreements the sponsors have or demand of them -

i suspect they wouldn't turn money away.  Just trying to think a little outside the normal emotional box here - I'm sure i have it all wrong though.

thanks for the replies.  I do feel bad, trust me on that

Not on your shoulders to feel bad Duff m8, Dicks here seem to be in the wrong in not understanding the meaning of WGT ..... Nike is worldwide, wonder what they think of the stink its all caused ?

And still no WGT official answering if they are returning the credits to at least the US members who only in the last week paid good credits for the same avatar.

I can't wait for the Golf Channel/WGT KKK open , a free hooded avatar for every heterosexual male U.S.  white anglo saxon protestant who enters.

    But the money was good....

    I am disgusted by W G T.
