Its a free michelob ball just for logging in and playing today, and from what I can gather, one 2morrow also.
The ball took a while to appear in my inventory but it did arrive.

got my free ball for saturday but didnt get the free one for sunday, like you said did take a while to appear in my inventory.
Received both of mine, Thanks WGT, gaining quite a collection of freebie 'special' balls.
