These Bracket games are fun and interesting.    Some recommendations and ideas:

    1. Once everyone has completed their round (or even once you know a player will advance), allow the players to begin playing the next round. Do not change the end time to complete the next round, but just allow the player(s) to play the next round when it is determined they have advanced to the next round.

     2. Also create some tier specific or multiple tier (ex. Master & TM) specific brackets.

    3. Also level specific and/or scoring average specific brackets, such as anyone with a level less than 90, or anyone with a scoring average greater than 60.

    4. If you can figure out your opponents score before playing, then just post it in the bracket. Strategy can be to post early or wait to see what score is required to win. This could provide a different type of pressure. Or hide scores from everyone. Don't really have a preference, but either way has different challenges.

    BolloxInBruges:

    1) Was thinking of a way to speed them up, how about when they reach 4 players, there is a "start early" button and if all 4 (or 2 if its down to that) agree to start early, once the 4th player hits the button the 24 hour timer begins.  This could cut down the time by a day or more to wrap it up.

    2) Pay out as soon as both players have finished the final round, rather than waiting for the timer to expire.  RGs do this in the rare instance that all 50 players do finish the round before the timer expires, they pay out instantly.

    3)  If you are going to hide a players score on the bracket until the opponent posts theirs, you should also hide it from the score history like you do with RGs. (scores hidden from history until 50 sign up)

    4)  Don't show who has signed up until all 16 spots are filled.  I personally would avoid joining a RG with a cast of all star players, which will make them fill more slowly of course.

    all above spot on

I also agree with what everybody has said.

The Brackets is a great Idea and I enjoy playing em.

    1)  I've noticed when everybody has completed their 1st round,   players still have to wait another 15hrs or so to start their 2nd round games.  I think when everybody has completed their matches then the timer should begin for the next round, instead of waithing hrs to play their next match.

    4)  Before I enter a bracket, I look to see who is playing, If a good player has entered then I wait to go to the other side or next Game.  I can see in the future that brackets will take alot more time to fill because everybody will be waiting to see who has entered...lol

This is the same argument people have been making against the RGs for years. If you're not ready to play, don't enter. If something comes up half way though your round, deal with it, that's life. No reason whatsoever anyone should need more than a couple hours to play a tourney they were able to find time to enter.

Just thought of of another one.

With all the Wgt Comps (except CC Tournies) we get a Trophy on our home page... Diamond, Crystal...etc   (for me mostly other silly colors...lol)  Could we get the same for the Bracket comps.

Not too sure about this...  are the Bracket winnings going on your Career Earnings?

in ready go`s im all for shorter  turn arounds. but with brackets  we are players from all around the world  with the 24hr clock we all can enter and play same time each day .

but i think they might try that i would play  if i could finish a 16 bracket in a friday evening.

I have no problem with the Timer...   The 24hr clock should still be in.

The only thing that Wgt can change is...

When everybody in the Bracket has posted thier score...   We all have to wait until the Time finished to play the next round (if we win)...  This can be 15hrs for example.

I think, when all the scores are in, then the Timer should start for the next round....  and 15hrs are saved.

I can relate to that.  I got timed out in 4 brackets one day because I couldn't play for awhile.

I posted this reply to Andyson's Graphic Pic in another Bracket thread...

I'll use this Graphic for a suggestion I have.

Speaking about Wd's...   2nd Round there is 4 players on each side of the bracket   If the top 2 players on one side Withdraw, then the winner of the bottom match gets a free ride into the Grand Final...

My Suggestion....   Instead of getting a free ride,  Why not have botth players from the bottom match going thru to the Semi Final and playing each other again.
