You're never going to get a putter for "miss the ding putting"  Its all down to WGT programing.  yes sometimes with breaks I like to miss the ding too but Its a risky way of putting.  Its all down to WGT deviation etc etc.  Have you ever played a shot with 10 mph+ wind and missed the ding to combat wind only to see your shot start off way off line due to the missing of the ding and end up 5+ yards left/right of pin instead of pretty close but other times same shot will not start off line and you end up close to pin??

its the same with putting, sometimes missing the ding will cause your putt to start more left/right than where you intended to aim and/or sometimes makes break effect shot and sometimes makes ball go straight instead of breaking.  Its the way game is programmed.

Thanks everyone for great posts.  The Rossa and the Daytona were the ones I tried out during free rental.  I don't see what would be so hard for WGT to use the 1 forgiveness like the starter, and high precision balance and slow meter??   I think it would be a big seller, simply because it was the only one of its kind.

I have taken my notes using a mental clock, and have good notes for how much break works at which o'clock.  I'm not the best putter for sure, but I have rounds where I have a 1.4 avg, which I think is good.  The rentals had me putting over 2.0 avg, which drives me crazy.

Again thanks for the time people spent replying...good people here at WGT.

I bought the Daytona Rossa, and its driving me crazy.  It does NOT putt the same as the Starter putter for miss the ding putting.  Using a 1.3 formula after adding/subtracting for ht difference worked perfectly for distance control with starter, Rossa is leaving me 10 feet short at times???!!!  The breaks that I had down very well with the starter are not even close now.

Why do these putters work so differently?  How did people adjust?  Could WGT please just offer a Starter club that maximizes precision and balance and keeps the forgiveness at 1?  It must be the forgiveness I am thinking.  I am back to using my starter.  Arrgghhh.

In my infancy here at WGT but here's my putting philosophy.. grip it n rip it, just like every other facet of my game.. :) Some of the best putts I've made have been a mile off the ding.. other times I'm dead on and nowhere close. That probably says more about my reads than anything else but hey, at least I'm honest.. what a great game this is.

Hold on to the Rossa... you just have to learn how to putt with it. I almost gave up on it when I bought it... Even bought the top Versa and went back to the Rossa. Look at the top earner this year/ month and see what he is using... can't be a bad putter.

    +1 on this

Rossa was the 1st putter I purchased and had it a few years and is very good. Then I upgraded to the L70 Odyssey and now have the L96 Odyssey after reading Wontonamo's post...thx m8    ...all very good for miss dings.

Don't forget too...  all depends on how much time you spend on using it.  If you change putters with a different meter scales...  then you have to take some time to learn.

I've always stuck with Putters with the same distance scales... which makes life a bit easier and with trial and error, try to fine tune everything.

Older thread but i like the G. Spider 92 for off dings. I have the Versa 97, I've tried the Nike 94 and Rossa 55. I'm a ding putter , and an off ding putter, depending on which method will have the most rewarding results.

Par 3 (I don't like this hole too much but this time it went in)

37 ft Birdie off ding 50+% past ding    (added a tad more power for the miss ding)

I really think almost any putter you can use for off ding putting, only issue is the more forgiveness the putter has the more you must miss the ding by,over time you prolly can get used to it and do well regardless of the putter you choose.
