Help please

  Hi everyone,

  I need some assistance from you clever pc people please.

  I got a new laptop yesterday which has windows 8on it, I have just played my first round with it and noticed a very distinct delay between when I click and the meter stopping, I have searched everywhere to find out how I can "speed the mouse up" and can only find how to speed up a dbl click and the touchpad.

  Anyone know how I can change the left button single click time or speed up the reaction time of a single click?

  move pointer to right, see search, "change mouse speed" will take you to the window to administer the mouse

  I had the same problem and managed to improve it marginally (via control panel) but still had a slight delay - so I have reverted to a wired mouse attached. I am still relearning after only ever using the touch pad lol.

  I don't know if this would make any difference Liz, but there's no harm done in trying.

  Control Panel / Power Options, then select High Performance power plan.

  Thanks gents.

  I managed to improve it a bit but still not how I want it, I'm not a dinger anyway as my vids show but I at least want to be able to stop the meter the correct side and then by the correct amount, especially with the putter!

  This is proving a bit troublesome right now, I just played my 2nd round with the new laptop and had alot more control than yesterdays round but still not ideal.

  My mouse is attached and I find it truly odd that windows 8 has no way to speed up a single click.

  Would hate to think that I spent all this money on a better/faster laptop and I ultimately struggle even more..

  Oh well, onwards and upwards.

  Install for Win 8.

  Depending on the laptop and mouse you're using, you may want to consider getting a gaming mouse, polling rates make a difference on response times. 

  USB 2 vs 3 can also affect input lag on gaming mice. 

  If you can stomach it, get rid of Win8 it's an abomination for anything other than email and shopping on ebay.

  I was told by the shop I bought this laptop at that it will no longer work properly if I remove windows 8 and install something else.

  I must say the more I play the better it seems to be getting or it could be eyes/reflexes automatically adjusting.

  I have win8 & use comodo dragon as my browser, it works better than other ones i've tryed. My nickel.

  You can add Windows 7 as a separate partition on your hard drive. When you log on, you can choose between 7 or 8. You can also add a small gig hard drive with Win 7 on it, and just install the drivers. Any computer place can do it for you in an hour or so (downloading the drivers will take a little longer). I also use Windows 8 (don't upgrade to 8.1 or higher, and remove Adobe active X (it's for IE only) if you have it. Also, the new Adobe update is being blamed by Microsoft for the bug in IE. Make sure you have Adobe set to notify you but NOT install updates. Use version 12. if you have a later version, uninstall it and go to filehippo and get 12. I use a Logitech mouse from Kmart (don't know if you have a Kmart where you are, but Sears owns Kmart so maybe you have a Sears, and it's just the 12.99 cheap one. Has to be a wired one for best results. Gaming mice have adjustable DPI's and such, but for WGT, you don't really need anything that costly or fancy. Comodo or Comodo IceDragon work really well with Win 8.

  I initially had the mouse that came with my computer, and had the same problem as you are having. Logitech is a great mouse.

  Google "add windows 7 to windows 8"...many options available.

  and----dont forget:  a wireless mouse is always a tad slower....!

  I hope, you will find out the problem, or close your account 4 ever...lol
