Says the guy using starter clubs and balls.........

    basmaniac:

On the contrary bishman, there is a difference between acourse being a challenge and being downright unplayable.  Having landed on the 2nd green less than 20 ft from the hole, the green seemed to be downhill wherever the putts were played from.  My first putt shot 15 ft past, then seemed to be an identical downhill lie from the other side of the hole, which is physically impossible!!

Yes, basmaniac,  it may be "physically impossible," but is it virtually impossible?

I hit 100% of fairways and took 43 putts.  I guess that showed me where my problems are.

Why bother WGTdbloshoe...no matter how hard you set the course up. The same players have a knack for figuring out how to hit the shots to the green and seeing those subtle differences in putts per hole and per course.  There seems to be some very gifted players with this knowledge.  The rest of us are playing for 10th place...lol!

I'll agree.  I've been on WGT for three years now and I consider myself to be a pretty fair player. This course seems almost unplayable. But I keep coming back for more! Shot 2 over on the first 9 and thought I had finally started to figure it out and then I get a quadruple on 11 and a triple on 12 and gave up.  And I'll try again.

If it's the Open course from the back tees and qualifying champ speed greens.....you're using starter irons and a spider putter, then I have to agree.

Just like the real life Open's going to prove to be, accuracy is the key to Pinehurst.....else the greens become a car ferry.....i.e roll on ....roll off :)

And it's not St. Andrews... ;)

Well I stuck with it and shot a 4 over yesterday and felt like a champ considering I shot 26 over the first time. it's a fun course and I hope it goes into regular rotation on WGT. Thanks for putting this on.

I'm sorry but it is a joke that guys are shooting 17 under par on this course (or any other for that matter)  Don't know what tricks they are using but you basically have to hit every green and one putt all but one green.  I doubt that this is happening through skill, eye hand etc.  I guess with the best clubs AND balls, a perfect computer setup and calm nerves it would be possible for a few on this game to do it but that is more than unrealistic for the average game player and impossible for any real golfer....

Kind of takes the fun out of even trying to qualify for the majors since you can't sniff the top 150.

You can't do it, so those who can are cheating?

Seems to be the mantra of inept players in here.

Yeah, because qualifying for the real majors is so simple anyone can do it. Darn all you people that are better than me! Stop it!
