Virtual Ball Retriever

After losing a good many pricey balls in the water and OB I was wondering if WGT could add a ball retriever to the pro shop. If purchased it would give you a certain percentage chance of recovering your ball. In real golf not every ball you hit waywardly is irretrievably lost; so at least a small chance of a recovery would be worth the cost.

A solid idea thumb. How about it WGT?

Alternatively, they could employ some of the enterprising young scallywags who used to populate my local course, and who would find your ball and sell it back to you in an instant.

Unfortunately, a large number of my balls were deemed 'lost' before they had even stopped rolling!

Good sound business practice or daylight robbery?

    Let me think...

in the pro-shop you can purchase i dozen used balls for say a buck. Some will have some life on them, others not so much and its always a mixed bag of different balls. Maybe based on the % of balls purchased.

    like 3-4 gi-sd

    some gi3 d

    etc.

The used balls thing would be a great idea but I don't think that WGT would be want to implement something that would lose them money since everyone i play with seems to buy balls as they already are now.

all in all i think its a great idea though, both the used balls and the ball retriever.

now if only WGT would pay you credits to send your virtual player in the lake with a scuba tank to retrieve them...

I love that idea.  They could make it fairly expensive, 800 or 1,000 credits and give you a 25% chance of getting your ball back.

Can't see it ever happening though.

Something tells me that if WGT ever did this, then you would get about 99.9999% of balls with about 10 hits or less left in them. Just saying.
