"Upgrade" brings "Free game" to a termination. You've unlocked them for buying from the Pro Shop. You need credits to pay - see the "get credits" section for information.
But, at level 13 there's no reasonable equipment available.
My 2 Pfennig: Continue "free" until level 41, at least until level 30. Get more information here about good clubs.
