I bought a laptop last year, great graphics card, specifically for gaming, just to play WGT!

We were starting a 12 step program, but the 1st step is admitting you have a problem.  We couldn't get anyone to do that.....

That depends, buying a desktop no problem, buying a $2500 high tech gaming computer tower with a water cooled heatsink, a $200 gaming mouse, and a $800 high def 27" monitor, and a $300 gaming chair, just might mean you need to seek a little help!

This is a browser based game.  I use a laptop that I use for many things, and it is not even a game spec laptop. All that said it's a nice laptop (intel core i7; 8 gigs ram and some mid range graphics thingy), and really overkill for this game. I can quite happily have HD video editing going on in the background, listening to radio, using skype talk (think the extra ram helps that stuff run smoothly together) whilst playing, and never an issue apart from the once in a great while meter jump.  Now usually that jump happens after a couple of slight hiccups, and so I clear the cache first sign.   Flash is not perfect whatever you run I am told, and I just can't see spending more would get me any benefit at all.

This is a browser based 2D game, not some high frame rate super res whatever the buzz words are.

Obviously I am no gamer, and personally would refuse (and always have) to start updating hardware to keep up with some latest hi - res game need (I went game console route for the kids lol and happy they have always been).  Having a nice monitor I get, and must get that back from daughter soon - fat chance lol.

I did try a gaming mouse (borrowed) but found the 28 ++ buttons silly (remember I don't do computer games lol).  I do use a Logitech Performance Mouse because I can as just like it, and well it serves for this and some picture work.

Whatever floats your boat, but for this game you do not need that much hardware I think.

I went off topic I know, and sure the OPs set up is a little more sensible if bought just for this game.  I don't think this game requires anything specific for it alone anyone else reading.
