These tournaments are turning into a joke... it seems all you have to do in most of them is not withdraw and you stand a very good chance of winning.

There are way more withdraws in the free tournaments than there are in the pay tournaments. People will withdraw over anything in free tournaments. Let them pay, and they will end up completing their rounds (most of the time).

Sorry TonyPhil , you appear to be under the misapprehension that WD  means people have actually WithDrawn.

I made a post to this effect a few days ago - I have a small window each day when I get time to play a proper game ( i.e. 9 holes not CCTH or anything like that) - however this regularly coincides  with that ridiculous "Be Right Back" message - as a result if there is only a few hours of the Bracket to go , then, quite simply I am not allowed to complete my round. Rather than blaming the players I suggest you consider the fact that brackets, in their present form ARE a bit of a joke.  For people with busy schedule they are not worth it. I will not be taking part ANY paid bracket tournament until the countdown timer is resolved.

A simple resolution would be to keep the countdown, but to let me play all 4 rounds in advance - just releasing each score to public view when the timer has countdown/or until everyone has completed that appropriate round.  Its really not that complicated. It may also speed up the tournament.

Often, those extra 2/3 rounds which I did would be of no use - that would be fine with me - its all good practice after all.  Also, at least then you would find out who has really actually WithDrawn / couldn't be bothered.

In addition to everything that Auto has stated, I think WGT should at least offer a free sleeve of balls to those who win the Bracketed Tiered Tourneys. I don't think that would be too much to ask for do you? It would give us a little more incentive to keep an eye on the speed tourneys. And even those that are just the regular Tiered Tourney's too!! Too bad we don't have much say in anything that the WGT is ruling on in this great game.

And why would anyone enter a Speed Tourney if they're busy or have other things planned to do? It's just taking spots away from players that do want to play.

i'm not sure what needs to be resolved. It's working perfectly and as intended. The timer is set for 24 hours per round, starting at the moment the bracket is filled. Can't get much less complicated that that. If you know you won't be able to play in that 24 hour span  in 2 days (semis), don't enter. I didn't have one single issue with the bracket tournies and I played quite a few of them, mostly credit ones.

How is it determined who moves on in case of a tie?

I tied a player in my first bracket tourny and moved on.  I tied a player in my second tourny and did not move on.  What is the criteria for advancement?

They use countback in the case of a tie. The same as in real golf. Mr Admin is still not making links clickable.

I am glad that you don't have "one single issue with the brackets tournies".

However I am sure you would agree that if you were to login to try to complete your round when there are still 2 hours remaining for  play , only to find that the WGT site is unavailable, you would find that indeed , there is an issue.

It may not have affected you - and that's good, but that doesn't mean that there isn't an issue.

I was playing a tournament just now that I had 24 hrs to post my score. I played the first round and won. About 1/2 hr later I started playing the 2nd round. In the middle of the 4th hole I was cancelled out and told I didn't play in time. The whole WGA is a joke. Nothing works very well. I use it onl as a time wasting exercise. I would never spend a penny of my own money on this.
