Lately I have seen the following occurrence numerous times on my profile page.

This maybe related to others reported load errors, etc.

This part is Flash. Some options (not claiming completeness):

    Check and clear the caches,

check the version, perhaps install an older one, perhaps just re-install (after de-installing).

check the internet connection (speed check? or with your provider?)

Unfortunately, possible WGT problems can't be excluded nor fixed from our side.

Sorry, for my bad sense of humor; But, I should have added, that my caches, both adobe, and internet cache were cleaned; Secondly, since I am a firefox user, I have set up a profile for specifically for WGT. It has no pop-up blockers or ad blockers. Thus, any delays, are on the server side, not on my side. My internet speed, is 18.11 Mbps, and upload is 1.13 Mbps. Which, in my opinion is plenty fast.

I have read so many complaints about the disconnect and not being able to return issues it's really getting ridiculous,I have been experiencing it a lot lately myself especially in multi-player games and more often than not it happens on the last hole, their are far to many complaints by so many players it CAN NOT be on the players end in my opinion, like most who are complaining I clear and clean my cache's and make sure my puter is running optimal for the game,I have zero issues with other games....this has got to be on WGT's end.

So tired of the errors ,wasted time, missing out on xp points and most of all wasted very expensive ball life which by the way should be replaced,,,,please do something to rectify and fix the errors that are occurring on your end of our connections WGT.........thank you in advance.....Laura

Edit...well after a couple more disconnects while playing in multi-player games because of this on going bug in the game that most players are experiencing ( I have never quit in a game!!!!!) I have had the honor tonight of having the dreaded yellow flag bestowed upon me,,,,,,,,fix it wgt it's on your end and give me back my excellent completion status....thank you....Laura

infinito has forgotten more about PCs than you will ever know.  Do some research on his prior posts alosso.

    Not necessary.

I thought that he'd come here for help but I misinterpreted his post. I'm sorry for any inconvenience involved.

No problem alosso, the information given was to help WGT identify a problem with load errors and disconnects.

Here is a little food for thought for members who use a browser other than IE. Which, may be also be applicable to IE.

Meter stutters, are related to the cache size, HD speed, as well as CPU speed.

There are three files, in a mozilla base browser, including google chrome, these files are named:

    1. _cache_001
    2. _cache_002
    3. _cache_003

If your cache gets too big, these files will get extremely large.  For my computer and its age I set my cache level to 50MB, and generally, these files average in size of 4MB.

Newer systems, and HD speeds are roughly 130MB/s, mine is at 75 MB/s, unless you are using a ramdisk, in which R/W speeds are 10 to 15 GB/s.  Which is significant.

Thus, keeping the cache size reasonable less than 100 MB will improve your game play.

Don't forget, 12 MB of the files describe about will cause a 0.1 second interruption while the data is written to disk.

Shade, a while back (quite a while actually) in this thread you indicated increasing the cache size to 500MB would help.  And I've been following that for years now with my cache size set to 700MB.  Why the change of heart?

Its faster to retrieve a file from disk rather than from the WGT server no?  And likely, though I have no measurement, less CPU intensive too.  Logically then our PCs would run the game better with a larger cache.

Very good question andyson. I spent alot of time looking at the 3 files mentioned above. Those three files, contain data on the files stored on your HD for your cache.  As your cache increases the size of those files also increase.

Those three files, are loaded into memory when your browser starts.  Also contained in those three files  is data also.  Just consider them a unusual zip file structure.

One file contains meta data for files less then 256 bytes. The next file contains data between 256 and 1K and the last for data between 1K and 4K.  If you look at the files stored on disk for your internet, they are generally greater than 4K.

Surprisingly, the number of files actually stored in those three data files is large.   Secondly, there is a utility that you can used to examine your cache, and determine how many times the data was retrieved, used over in game play.  Surprisingly, very few are used more than once.  The,  HD photos stored in your cache is generally used only once.   Thus,  alot of wasted HD space is used.

The size of the cache files is directly proportional to the size of your cache.

Do a file search on your computer for those three files, and look at the size of those files.  Then just use the guideline for HD speed, and you will get the general idea as to why the meter might stutter at an in-opportune time.

Secondly, if the cache gets too large, then those files will be updated more regularly.

Thus the answer on your question in retrieving data from the WGT server will not change much by increasing your cache size.  The key, was how many times are the HD photos are re-used on a course by course basis.  They are only used once 99.5% of the time.

    Hope the explanation helps.
