Hit a drive w/ a 18mph tailwind w 0 spin 85% power and almost went into the creek...

Does anyone try to drive over the creek with a tailwind regularly?

Can it be done consistently of only attempt when ball is about to get taken out of play?

I always play to avoid being even close to the creek...

I would not try it straight on unless the wind is over 20mph----but if you go to the very far left of the fairway you can do it easy.

But you have to be very very careful going to the very far left side of the fairway because of the out of bounds so close to that side.

You can always shank your drive and get some really lucky bounces

I always use my 3 wood on drive with tailwind. I try to leave about a 60 yd distance to hole from there. Many birdies and even a couple of eagles playing that way.

The Swilkan Burn is not a creek it's a burn. We don't have creeks in Scotland.    ;)

The right side is most def 'doable' too, Fatdan -  Hit this a while back - wouldn't really recommend it though. I think I just happened to miss Mr. Ding to the right and it's caught the brickwork/sprinkler/Icon's wallet. :)

Ok, thanks...it's so easy to reach the creek/burn/hazard I thought there might be a shot down the left center that would roll up close to the back pin placement for an eagle putt....the other options still leave you a shot from a distance so better off laying up..

Mannnnn, you can't name a body of water a "burn", talk to someone and get that straightened out! LOL Call it a wash, a wetplace, a run off, if not a creek, but a burn I don't get...If you said, "hey fatman, watch out for the burn over there", I would fall in the creek looking for the burnt spot...LOL.

Cooking bacon while camping  I got splashed with hot fat. Too cool it down I immersed my burn in a burn.

It makes perfect sense to us and it's too late to change now, we're beyond help.
