I just finished the May Monthly 9 hole challenge and checked my standings. I noticed the top 1-8 were either Masters or Tour Pros (I'm leveled out as a Pro). I checked the Hack category, and again, Tour Pros and Masters lead the top, and all appear to have been members of this game from only 2 - 6 weeks. How cool is that, that the newbies pick it up so fast and manage to win tournaments outside of their own level?
I suck at this game, but I do derive a bit of satisfaction and fun interacting with some of the other players and improving my game, but I expect a certain amount of accountability and honesty. But to play against other people who have only been members for a few weeks and ranked as hack or amateurs to consistently hit 340+ drives into the wind, and 60 foot putts on a uneven lie on hilly terrain seems a bit rediculous to think I can even hope to compete. It's beginning to suck the fun out of this.
