I think it must be Stimp Meter reading. I played one that was tournament 11 which must be the speed for Tour Master, and the 12 must be Legend speed. Guessing.

    Cheers....fwys & greens

    "Championship 13"

When I came in for the first game of the day I just had to play the RSG unlimited tourney to make my days played just in time not to loose exp. I see 0-0 winds and tournament green 12, I thought, "oh must be something new." And shot a 28 first time ever on RSG, so I go to the forums and find out down time and what not. So I decide to try CC bracket. I see 12-14 winds and Champ greens 13. So I figure ok so the wind's are between 12 mi. an hour to 14 mi. an hour and the greens are playing quick with the 13 attached. I find out how quick with every birdie putt, hit the hole and roll out and missing every stinking birdie putt by fractions of a cm. I could not believe it, I play real good on St. Andy's 9 out of 10 times, but this time guess what? I shoot even, talk about a kick in the gut. I just have to learn and play the break just a bit different. I like how they can come up with something new and you have to learn it for yourself with no  explanation what so ever, unless I haven't seen the thread yet  explaining what the **** is this new stuff now.  Rant over, Let's Play Golf Virtual Stile.

Tour Masters, and Legends have always had Tourney greens, but they were at different speeds.  While now, you can tell which tourney green your on.

Its not that hard.  Some people are looking into it wayyyyy too much.  Green speeds didnt change, they just got enhanced to where they have put a # by the green speed now.

Except I have played Tourney 12 and Tourney 11 and I haven't changed levels, so it's not as straight forward as it may seem.

"12" is short for an alleged "stimp meter measurement = 12 feet", stating how far a real ball would roll on a real flat green due to a defined mechanical impulse. A higher number indicates a faster green.

This is known only by some real golfers and fans of golf tournaments.

In WGTland, it's a chance for a more precise indication of the green speed variations; most of all, it gives a clue if (Tour Master) Tournament speed of 11 or (Legend) Tournament speed of 12 is in use.

For the gamers here, it should be explained in the FAQs. Furtheron, it would be nice to see the number in the game client before entering a tournament.
