Playing St. Andrews, I hit the ball into the deep fescue (70-80% lie). I tried to punch out a wedge.....lost ball. Tried to punch out a 6 iron.....lost ball.

I didn't want to lose any more balls, so I quit the game. What alternatives are there?

Do you keep losing balls until you hit the hole stroke limit, or what?

Why doesn't WGT give you an unplayable lie choice?

Best to punch a wedge to the fairway not much of a choice really

Where did you put the ball spin adjustment dot for each of those clubs?

You want to aim towards the closest better lie, even if it is 180° away from the hole.

You might use the putter until the stroke limit. Ugly, I know. Looks better to quit the game - a score of +10 at one hole will not allow for any positive result.

Design. There are no choices during the game.

I do not think I have ever been in a situation where no matter where I aim my ball will get lost, unless I am behind a tree and the ball will hit the tree to finally go out of bounds.

70-80%....punch with a wedge with FULL top spin to fairway!...unless fairway is more than 40-50 yards and it is fescue all the way. You can not punch to fairway?, punch to rough or sand with the same FULL top spin.

This may be true, but sometimes you'd need two sleeves to find the spot. And sometimes, you need good wedges, not Starters.

I remember KIA #2, a drive straight into the area behind the FW. There, any shot towards the FW would be "lost ball".

An essay with Starters showed that the only (visible) opportunity was to hit parallel to FW to a path. From there, to FW and continue.

Would an unexpecting player find this out without losing a sleeve? Would it be worth to continue the round?
