  If guys had read John's initial thread, this was always meant to be a bit of light hearted banter between nations with the distraction of a little competition thrown in.

  I'll give it out to guys when they're feeling a little low, so I've got to grin and bear it.

  Some of the English baiting is quite humourous, and I'd like to return it ,especially to the Welsh.   However, I can't recall the last time they were in a World cup final so cannot recall any funny moments of there demise.

  I'm sure the Scots would love to remind us of Costa Rica and their world cup pedigree.

  Not long.  He blew it, and can't get away from that.  EDIT: Thinking again maybe he should stay as he at least had them looking good now and then...Crumbs of something, lol...Be a long talk needed though as he did "overall" blow it.

  Yes.  A defence that could not cope with even a long punt though, and gift that quality that space..........

  In many parts the team did look exciting, unlike the last couple of WCs. However, been looking forward to the young players doing great since my very first memory of defeat in 1973,  England V Poland  That long ball going under Shilton after we had the ball in their box what 90%+ of the game.  We can live in hope I guess, not much choice really,LOL...You are right to look at some of the positives of course, and so please do not get me wrong.

  Nope but I know some Colombians and they are more nuts than the Brazilians(no pun intended). Good parties though.

  Don't know why we bother, get all excited, although this year was not quite as bad as normal, only to be let down. At least we don't have to sit through penalties again though which is a relief.

  Jez, just looked at the table, if I had not had a blind allegiance to Engeerrland I would be right up their because I suppose anyone in their right mind would have bet on Italy and Uruguay.
