I'm level 22, amateur and have 1170 credits.  Should I save my credits or start purchasing some clubs?

Save them for the g25 lvl 59 those will do you good all the way to legend , or when you need/ have credits to spend.

and get 3 wedges those will do you good too.

3 atv , ping or cleves they are all good and those will save you pars when you get into trouble, and make birds when you master them.

You will be amazed to see how good they are compared to the starters.

    fair winds out there

Depends if you pay cash for some of your equipment, how fast you want to get away from the Starter clubs or if you don't mind them, which clubs are more important to you, what you want to get from the game, etc..

Looks like you've taken to the game really fast. Nice going.

The TaylorMade R1 Driver is a real difference maker. Expensive at 2495 credits, but it'll last you a very long time and for me made the game much more enjoyable.

The G20/G25 irons Level 59 are very good irons at 2395 credits. They offer higher trajectory for better holding power on the greens.

The TaylorMade Ghost Spider Putter Level 35 is very good at 800 credits.

If credits are at a premium, do yourself a favor - use the Starter equipment as long as you can while you accumulate as many free credits as you can.

There's a rather poorly designed search function for the forums located over on the right side of the page. If you haven't used it yet and have time, give it a go.

    Good luck to you.

Top priority, I'd say, are two short wedges as a start, e.g. ATV from lvl 39. Hold your money for them. The third one on top of them, perhaps a better version, when you have custom irons (later) (drop the hybrid for it).

Second, a 3WD, as a driver replacement, e.g. R11 (lvl 31) or a better one. With more credits, get a set, R11 or higher RBZ. To wait for the lvl59 G25 may be too much (83,000 XPs). A putter if you can spare 500 crs or more - practice with the Starter.
