That may be the goal: Struggle, buy balls, add revenue.

    PTrenter:

I agree with what seems to be the majority.  There are a whole host of new features/fixes that existing players have been crying out for for a while now.  I don't remember a new tier above TL being one of them.

Please put what limited time and resources you have into what players want. After all, you should want the same thing as it keeps  them involved in your game.

Also, how about giving those players beta te---alpha testing privileges for new products and courses?

I like this idea.  You might find though there is already something like this in place now.

    +1001

PLUS - bear in mind Admin2 has stated in several threads (nearly as a defence mechanism) that WGT is a small company - Well the more reason to spend your time and resources wisely.

In other words, fix what you have first before the bungling programmers screw something else up.

    WGTadmin2:

Thoughts please - New Tier Above Tour Legends?

    Help us think this thru

I think the mistake was made when the scoring average to move to TL was set at only 60.00. If WGT had set it to 57.00(equal to Diamond Course Award )we would have an even spread of scoring average in the Legend and Tour Legend Tiers of about 4 average points.

Tour Legend= infinite low score -57.

    Legend =57.01-61.00

Adding another Tier now doesn't fix or change anything when the original mistake can't be fixed.

Very Good Point.  I don't think there would have been enough TL's though. If I can remember, I think it took awhile for the numbers to fill up at an Ave of 60.00  I could be mistaken though.

Wgt could make the new Tier starting at 57.   After the usual 500 R/Rounds played as TL

You may be right concerning the TL threshold, Cerino, but I still can't see any justification in the numbers for a further separation.

The last stats by CS names 1078 TLs. Of these, 193 passed a 57.0 ave. and 320 have achieved 58.0 or better. The average average is 59.57.

Thus, separating the top players would create a meager pool of high class players, once they have fulfilled the extra rounds to tier up (>100 probably?).

What for? Would it be more fun for them? Is it necessary to keep them away from the second-best?

Seems to me creating another Tier would do exactly that. Create another yet smaller pool of high class members. I have no idea what for, if it would be any more fun for them, or if it's necessary to keep them away from the second best. Ask WGT, it's their idea that's being debated.

One other thing is you're looking at their averages already in TL. I'm talking about a Legend average to get to TL. The lesser green speed makes a big difference in posting low scores. I know I struggle like crazy with the Champ Speed greens but Tourney Speed has become very easy to judge. IMO it just seems too little between becoming Legend with a 61.00 then becoming TL with a 60.00 after the 500 rounds played. Perhaps 59 or 58 would be better. I used 57.00 because it matches the Top Course awards. I thought perhaps WGT used the 57 because they found it to have a real significance in their judgment of player ability.

I don't think its needed - takes ages for TL RGs to fill up and just as long for TL brackets, plus you are a shunned breed when trying to get an alt shot game going.

I would like to know who is actually asking for this?

On the subject of averages - there was a chance to keep the TL average as a 500 round rolling average, but no WGT in their wisdom decided that 500 would result in saturation - so there is no such thing as a proper TL average..... just a lot of players who have played 500 very good rounds.
