It is very frustrating, when playing an opponent, and you hit a good shot, when they are further away, and they pull out a wedge. Its not done in real golf, under only extreme circumstances. Its done on here because players just dont like putting from long range, no matter the green speed

I dont see any point in allowing the use of wedges on the green. The use around the green is reasonable, because we all would do that for real.

My point here, is if we cant use the putter off the green, then why can the irons be used on them.

Please have the irons removed from play when the ball is designated to be on the green.

    Thank you

Using a club other than a putter on the green doesn't violate any official golf rules in real life so there's no reason to ban it in this game either.

Personally, I always use a putter on the green unless there's absolutely no other choice, like when my approach shot comes up extremely short on the front of the green with the Road Hole Bunker blocking my putting path on the 17th hole at S&A for instance.

Frankly, using anything other than a putter on the green is plain stupid. In most situations, no other club offers the same level of precision as a putter.

There is no rule in golf that says you can't use irons on the green. Use whatever you can play best with.

And you can putt in this game from off the green. It's just not a very accurate shot choice unless you're on the fringe.

Bottom line, if another player uses his irons on the green better than you can use your putter, that sounds like a you problem, not their problem.

    Cheers 🍻

I don't care about using a "wutter" when needed.

What I would like to see, is driver off the deck be allowed.

If the game was properly made, a player should be able to hit the driver from the fairway, and if hits the ding, give him some reward, if he misses, then punish the shot. That's the risk/reward of golf.

Creativity and improvisation as the hallmarks of great golf- shot shaping, odd club selections in odd spots, etc- this is what golf is, and what should be included here.  Wuttering on the green? Yep, part of that process.

I had a triple breaker the other day from 50+ft. and used a wedge shot to just a couple feet, on another occasion I holed one out (dont recall the distance). I use a wedge on the green for the longer putts and I am getting more accurate with it. There are some instances where you might have to putt over the corner of a fringe to get to the hole so a wedge shot def helps in that situation. My putting skills are not that great.

    Cheers

For Chambers #18, 28 yards above the hole, full 60y wedge shot works a treat. Even holed one out, while the rest were tap-ins.
