    Hi everyone,

I am currently trying to compile scores from our members based on their tier.  What I would like to do with this information is compile the scores shot from our members and come up with slope ratings on our courses so I can fine-tune a handicap system I am currently working on.

In a previous thread I just posted, I asked our tour legends to provide me with scores they shoot from the various tee boxes so I can compile a set of course ratings for each course.

I'm now asking everyone what scores they shoot when playing the various courses.  Here's the information I would like to obtain ...

Your tier, the course played, the tee box you played from, the game settings (if you played a ranked round, just specify "ranked"), the game mode (Front 9, Back 9 or Full 18) and your score.

From this data, I will compile a list of stroke ratings that will further improve my handicap system.  I will share this information along with the course ratings with everyone on the community.

The more scores I receive, the more accurate the averages will be.  I hope I can count on you.

Thanks for your help with this!

    Kat ♥

    Hi Kat,

The last 3 times i played "Wk 25 9-Hole Bethpage F9"  as a Pro. It's ranked and my scores have been 37, 36 and 31. I think it's played from red tee.

I also played some brackets, mostly 9 holes on Bethpage or Kanua. They all ranked and I think they all played from red tee. All scores have been between 33 and 38.

Hope you'll have a little help from this.

    Good luck // Nutvara

    Thanks for your scores, Nutvara.

What I'm actually looking for is scores from tee boxes you usually wouldn't play in a tourney ... example, as a Pro, you're usually playing from the White tees.  What I would love to get are scores you would get if you played from the Blue tees and the Black tees.  There are some courses I wouldn't suggest you attempt the more difficult tees, since you can lose golf balls in this game, even in practice mode.

A brief glimpse at my score history reveals the following:

    • U.S. Open week event 70
    • U.S. Open week event 70
    • U.S. Open week event 70
    • U.S. Open qualifier 76
    • U.S. Open qualifier 74
    • U.S. Open qualifier 66 (**** yeah!!!!!   Under par LOL)
    • U.S. Open qualifier 78
    • U.S. Open qualifier 79

I believe that each of these events were played from the championship tees/legend tees. Probably not enough data points to be considered statistically significant, but better than no data at all I suppose.  My normal tee box is from the Master tees, so playing from the tips was quite a new experience for me.  Pinehurst is a bit of an odd duck however, in that even from the legend tees, the only truly difficult holes (IMHO) are 4, 16, and if you have a poor up and down game, 2.

Kat, all american courses and I imagine the UK ones too have a slope rating assigned to them by the USGA. Can u not just use that which is already in place.

For example the slope rating for Pinehurst #2 is 141, which is on the difficult side  of average.

The slope rating is based on the course and tee boxes, and has nothing to do with players scores.

Forgive me if I am barking up the wrong tree.

    Hi Oneeye,

Yeah ... I'm aware that the USGA maintains a slope rating.  It's also known as the "bogey rating".  And while I can use the USGA slope ratings and course ratings, the scores in this game do not compare to the scores IRL ... so the bogey rating and course ratings(or pro ratings) from the USGA can't really apply here.  While the formula can be used to determine differentials and player handicaps, you really can't just use the numbers supplied from the USGA for the courses with this game.

Let me give you an example on course ratings ... The USGA has a course rating on KIA back tees of 77.3.  Our current tour legend average on Kia is 60.4.  And Olympic Lakes course  has a course rating of 73.9 ... but our tour legends average 60.3 on this course.

So, it makes sense that if one adjust the course rating (or scratch rating), one also needs to adjust the slope rating.

I really do wish it were that easy, John.  It sure would make this endeavor a lot easier.

Hey Kat, feel free to cruise through my score history, I think the only "non-tips" round I have played lately, was in the Womens PH Open Event, but I have no idea what tees they are from.
