    Well. This used to work.

    Wind

    Not so much anymore. For most US courses, 43% as opposed to 50% works to some extent. The real bummer is that wind VEM has kicked up.

    I've had dinged shots bend into the wind.

    Sigh. At least we're all in the same boat.

    thanks for reply I will try the 43% as I have as a rule been using 50% an that 7% would equate to between 3-10YRDS ON SOME SHOTS

    Yep, they have turned the wind into a guessing game.

    Its always been a guessing game, because just like real wind, the wind angle and velocity changes to some degree while your ball is in the air.

    You can see the wind direction indicator fluctuating to and fro as the angle changes.

    Add to that the uncertainty the circle of Precision each club has.

    You need to remember that shorter the iron/wedge less wind will impact it, so for example your PW will maybe get effected by 5 yards per 10 mph wind but your 210 iron might get effected by 10 yards per 10mph wind.

    This is a "ROUGH" Guide which i use. But you need to take notes on certain holes because some holes play long/short and green might effect roll or make ball stop dead etc etc.

    60 wedge = 3 yards per 10 mph wind

    80 wedge - 100 Wedge =4 yards per 10 mph wind

    PW - 9i = 5 yards per 10 mph wind

    8i - 7i = 6 yards per 10 mph

    6i = 7 yards per 10 mph

    5i = 8 or 9  yards

    4i = 9 or 10 yards

    3i = 10 yards

    Wood = 10 yards

    Remember, this is a rough guide and is not an EXACT SCIENCE and its a guide which i use with Nike irons or R11's, the distances might be a bit off if you use shorter irons because my 6i is 180 yards but might be different yardage for you.  See what works for a specific club/yardage

    Also back spin can effect clubs a bit more/less as well
