I would like to be able to see my and my fellow golfer's scorecards. Especially on bracket tournaments.

    hi

i don't know if this will happen. tie break rules are in effect, so that should solve concerns.

if this had a chance to happen then we'd likely have already seen it in premium tournaments, rg's and such

I'm not concerned, just curious. Would like to put some context to the game played by my opponent.

For the tiebreak rule to work, the hole by hole scorecard must be saved somewhere post round so don't see why it can't be made accessible to view.  Would be a nice addition.

It would also be great for adjusting scores.  Right now, when you see a score of 40+ on a 9 hole event, you don't know if the player shot par with a few double-bogeys, or if they shot well with a few "blow-up" holes.

It makes handicapping difficult when you can't adjust a member's "blow ups".

While we're at it ... get an "unplayable lie" option programmed ... even if it means your using just stroke and distance as the only option.  It's better than taking 4 strokes to get out of an unplayable lie situation!

How much memory storage space would be required to save all those scorecard images?

When we save them locally, they're images that take up lots of space.

WGT can save the background data used to generate the cards, which requires only a tiny fraction of the space (That's also how they can save thousands upon thousands of replays).

It's likely that this data already exists somewhere - as PT astutely observed, it has to be available to the system for tiebreakers.  There's a good chance it's never purged.

The amount of extra storage would be trivial in relation to all the other stats which are stored. Also, it would really only need to be stored for as long as a tournament in taking place. After this, it is not of much use.

(As well as tiebreakers it appears that your best scores on CCTH holes are all recorded just now anyway)

I think I'm right in saying that when you challenge other players to beat your score, the scorecards are both presented at the end of the round ?

I would also be extremely keen to see this on CTTH tourneys... i.e. hovering over different players on the leader board  would allow you to check their scores on each hole.

    Yep!

This is stored in an email - very few raw data:

    HOLE               1   2   3   4   5   6   7   8   9  TOTAL
    ------------------------------------------------------------------
    playerA44634433435playerB33446445538
    ------------------------------------------------------------------
    PAR 43445434435

Some html formatting makes for a shiny scorecard...

I don't recall saying "scorecard images" ... the pretty scorecards aren't what's important ... its the scores on these scorecards that matter ... If you're trying to save space, you could store an 18 hole game score (max 15 strokes per hole) in 9 bytes of data.
