So after playing for quite some time without any problems, the meter stutter is back again!! Was just playing a Bracket tourney, 18 holes on Kiawah, when all of a sudden on the Par 5 2nd, it did it to me 3 times in a row!! Ended up losing 3 frickin' balls and ended up with an 11!! Never have I had anything over a 9 since I began playing back in Jan. of 2014. I'm on the verge of going to the Legend tier too and it started happening again a few days ago!! So I have determined that WGT wants me to spend a few more bucks on balls before it'll let me get up to the Legend tier!! Just had to vent my anger and frustration. Let me know if anyone else is experiencing this problem!!

FWIW - Many players monitor their computer's CPU performance using Windows Task Manager as a way to time the start of their down swing. The closer to idle your CPU is, the smoother the meter will be.

Using Task Manager I can see when some application has started up in the background because my CPU never settles down as I pause at the top of the swing.

That is my cue to abort the swing, open Task Manager to Processes, and shut down the offending application.

There are a number of things at your end you can check - Smooth meter - Optimizing your Windows computer

Totally get the A & F, Lute, I have seen this before. I don't have meter problems and occasionally I'll be sailing along and then odd stuff starts happening for no reason. Graphics start loading erratically, game slows down and the meter gets an attitude.

It's usually something on my end that's happening in the background, like maybe AV update, Windows update, or a scheduled backup. Something's going on in the background so I go looking instead of trying to play through it. That's where that Task Manager helps because you can see something out of the ordinary right away. Usually saving the game and rebooting either the browser or the computer will resolve it.

Even after losing that first ball, saving the game and getting out and back in was the move. Hindsight's wonderful but doesn't come with a ball retriever.  ;-)

I appreciate both of your input. I have been monitoring the CPU and it has been very stable for a long time now. I agree it's very likely something in the background but seemed a little suspicious because I'm only a few strokes away from the Legend tier. But what's really weird is it only seems to happen on St. Andrew's!! Granted it got me good on Kiawah the other day though.  Did it again this morning on the very last hole on St. Andrew's, tee shot!! Put me in the frickin' parking lot!! Lost 2 strokes because of it too!!

I usually have a very smooth meter but if it gets twitchy I immediately look at this -

The slider seems to re-set itself now and again to 100kb, I put it to 'unlimited' far right on slider and that cures any problems. (until it does it again)

Waste of time, Paul. Never seen anything close to 100KB for WGT. Right now there's 11KB there. More typically it's around 40-50.  :-)

Yep. That is a Flash Player setting I no longer concern myself with.

Instead I make sure no web sites are listed on the Website Privacy Settings panel.

We can clear that page by right clicking in the Play Now button, or on any game client page, then select Global Settings > Delete All > Delete Data.

Looks like I took a co-incidence linked to a distant memory of an old forum theory and came up with horsesh*t.  Ah well, loops off everyone? lol.

I now need some advice (maybe TDS or fancypipes can help me?)  - Which tinfoil should I buy to make a hat from?

Sometimes you need more than a hat.  No idea what brand was used here but I think this is one of the more popular vehicles among some WGT users.

Every time I set mine up it goes to 4KB...I delete all other sites frequently. I play on Maxthon basically because of the Zoom feature it offers but have tested other browsers and they work well. Hardly ever get a meter bump.
