Just joined wgt about a week ago. I have almost made it to level 20 but I'm still a HACK. I can't seem to master the swing meter or make any putts longer than 5 feet, especially if they involve trying to estimate any type of break. I understand I won't advance to the next tier if  I don't lower my average score, but I just can't seem to make any birdies. Also, how do I gain more credits to be able to upgrade my gear. It seems hard to post a score lower than 4 or 5 over with the starter gear provided upon setting up my account. Any help would be appreciated.

play all the free tournaments you can. During my tutorial they gave me a halfway decent starter driver and I spent some of the free credits from leveling up on the starter plus iron set 49 cr. and a decent putter. This helped me a lot. The MOST important thing is getting that ding or at least very very close to perfect timing. The upgraded clubs slow down the meter making everything more accurate. My first round with them I shot a 69 in the uneven lies tournament.

First of all, welcome to WGT!

To be honest, you will want to stay at the bottom tier for as long as possible. Consider it your chance to start learning the game and its mechanics.

You won't need to upgrade your gear yet, just use the starter gear and work on lowering your score. For equipment, make SURE you do not use the EZ swing clubs. They are horrific.

The best way to earn credits without spending money is doing offers, watching videos, and completing surveys. You can search the forum for more information on obtaining free credits.

For training tips and advice, check out the game tips section in the forum. It has tons of tutorials and helpful advice. You can also search youtube and find some great videos on the WGT.

    Hope this helps a little!

    Biff:

Only stroke play rounds lower your average.

You have not played any yet,

You must be playing practice stroke play rounds to even know you are 4 to 5 over par. Just go play some WGT stroke play tourneys 4 to 5 over gets you to Pro...
