So I've used the starter putter since the beginning, and today finally decided to purchase a new putter: the Odyssey Versa #1.

Wow, what a difference it makes!

Not trying to brag or anything like that, but here's the first two rounds from using it:

    Eagle at #14 = 39ft putt.

I must say, it seems the best club I've bought so far. Even though it's just 2 rounds, it's so much more accurate and easier to hit the ding. Also gives a bit more confidence for approach shots, knowing there's still a chance of holing a 15-25ft putt should it not go to plan.

You've probably all heard this before. But for any newcomer to the game, I'd certainly recommend buying a new putter as a priority. Don't putt up with the starter! :-)

AND if ya think that one is good, wait until you buy the lvl 70 versa on your way to the lvl 96.

How much of an upgrade is the 96?  Slightly, or night and day?

I ask because I'm already doing pretty well with my 70.

If you are already doing well with the L70 then IMHO it really only comes down to if you have the credits to spend.

I remember making the switch and loving it, but at first I was missing more putts and think it was due to the extra precision just showing me how poorly I was at reading the greens in the first place.

    Huge difference to me!

I was like you, I really liked the lvl 70 and is a 1/2 dot difference worth all that money, well that dot scale means nothing in this case, it is better in every aspect...I missed putts too when I got it because I was used to the lvl 70 going offline at times when you struck the ball...

well that deflection all goes away, it goes exactly where you aim it, you make more putts with fewer lipouts!

Now I believe Jimbog prefers his lvl 70 over the 96, so who knows, I wouldn't switch for 20 free sleeves of $7 balls...

I upgrade yesterday from   the level  70 odessa to the level 96 odessa just before the maintenance

I play two ready go with good score, this putter look great, the upgrade look a good  idea.

Don't know if  the luck of the change help me, but look more stable and more precise, and  will help me lower some round... maybe.
